Harder than it should be to remember the last 6 that I've watched.

Begin Again - 7/10 - Pretty solid movie about a music producer trying to get a fresh start with an indie artist.

The Hateful Eight - 8/10 - Really enjoyed it, despite the over the top violence.

The Force Awakens - 9/10 - No explanation needed.

Dark Places - 4/10 - Was expecting more from another movie based on a book by the author of Gone Girl... pretty boring movie really, hate the ending.

ETA:

Minions - 2/10 - Didn't translate well with them as the main characters. The voices got really annoying really fast, and lost the humor of having them as the sidekicks.

The Martian - 7/10 - About as I expected based on reviews... good mix of comedy and sci-fi.

Revenant- 9/10. On the edge of my seat the entire movie. Best visually pleasing movie maybe I've ever seen. Tom Hardy was so relatable to someone I knew growing up, so his performance blew me awayI might have also had some natural plants to make it more enjoyable.

Room- 8/10 Great performances and it hit me very hard thinking how I would handle the situation if I was a father or brother to Brie Larson's character.

Spotlight- 9/10 I can't even describe how much I loved this movie. Every single actor was brilliant.

Inside out- 8/10 Lewis Black was born to play Anger. Never forget Bing Bong.

Ex Machina- 9/10 Loved almost everything about this movie.

Team America- 10/10 I've seen every South Park so i don't know how I let this slip through my fingers. I laughed the entire way through and completely lost it on the porn scene. Now, THIS is how parodies are done. Not those meet the 50 shades of black spartans turd sandwiches

Sicario 8/10 I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. I agree that Del Toro was amazing and was critical to this movies success. Before watching I read negative comments about Blunt's character, but I just don't see it. She was a pawn in a much larger game and she played it well.

Ex-Machina 8/10 Enjoyed the portrayal of AI and a twisted, retracted billionaire who invented it.

Sisters 2/10 God awful. Just don't find Tina Fey funny or appealing

The Martian 10/10 Thought Matt Damon was great in this movie. Good mix of Drama, comedy and science. Plus Ned Stark

Margin Call 8/10 Caught this on Amazon Prime a few days ago. I'm a fan of Kevin Spacey, Paul Bettany and Stanley Tucci. Having them all in one movie? yes please

James Wright Foley Doc 10/10 F ISIS

Chelsea Does - I liked it, but I don't have Chelsea Handler like most people.

Dear Zachary -

Hateful Eight - Enjoyable, but a little long.

Shenandoah - I went on a little crime documentary spree after watching Making a Murderer

Into the Abyss - Good documentary

Making a Murderer - Just made me mad.

There might be another movie or two in there, but its hard to remember the last 6, I watch way more TV shows than movies.

The Hateful Eight: Tarantino can be too pretentious/self-indulgent at times, and he was here in parts. Overall, I actually enjoyed this more than I thought I would. Not his best, but still enjoyable. Walton Goggins was the standout IMO.

The Revenant: Beautiful to look at, but I found it overrated and not very memorable. Performances were decent, but not Oscar-worthy. The plot unfolded like a campfire or fishing story. Too many ridiculous or convenient moments for me to ignore. One review I read by a guy named Rob Gonsalves said, "It's probably time to admit that Iñárritu has a loud voice but not much to say with it." I tend to agree with him here.

The Big Short: I thought it effectively broke the fourth wall (for the most part). Steve Carell was great. It was a solid film. Definitely a B- or a B

Star Wars: It was a flawed movie, but an incredibly fun experience. Can't wait for the next one.

Room: Magnificent direction and stellar performances. Love how the movie is structured. One of my favorites for 2015.

Brooklyn: I didn't know what I'd think going in, but I actually really enjoyed Brooklyn. Saoirse Ronan would win an award a lot of years, but her nuanced performance will pale when compared side-by-side with Brie Larson's.

From most recent on back, just counting the ones I saw in theaters...

Hail, Caesar! (7/10): It was decent and funny, although disjointed. I thought it wrapped up way too quickly for the buildup. Still, I really enjoyed the performances from almost everyone in it. Far from the Coens' best work, but I'll probably see it again later on down the road.

Spotlight (10/10): I enjoy journalism things more than most people, but I still thought this was the best movie I've seen in a long time. It just told the story without playing it up for any dramatic effect, and that was powerful enough.

The Revenant (8/10): It was longer than it needed to be, but it was such a beautiful-looking and sounding film. Also, Tom Hardy crushed it.

Spectre (5/10): I didn't completely regret going to see it, but I didn't really enjoy it that much. It was too over-the-top Bond for me.

The Martian (8.5/10): Really liked Matt Damon in the lead role, and the science was explained well enough for an idiot like me to understand.

Sicario (9/10): I think the people who didn't like it didn't get the point of it, especially Emily Blunt's character. Very intense. I was hooked from the first scene.

Drunk Stoned Brilliant Dead: The Story of the National Lampoon - 7.5/10 very interesting when it comes to the early years of what became most of the original SNL cast.

The Station Agent - 7.5/10

Jurassic World - 4/10

The Drop - 8/10

Calvary - 8.5/10

The End of the Tour - 8.5/10 but I'm a fan of David Foster Wallace.

Die Hard - 9/10 - hadn't seen this one since the 80's and it really hit the right spot, like finely aged cheese.

Kingsman -7/10 a fantastic movie. I really enjoyed it. Solid mix of action and humor and drama. The only question i had was in the beginning of the movie there was a conference call with like 8 kingsman sitting around the table. Where the hell were all those other guys the rest of the entire movie?

The LEGO Movie - 10/10. Everything is awesome.

Ex Machina - 5/10 - SLIGHT SPOILERS it was ok. For a super smart AI robot, that chick makes some unbelievably stupid decisions at the end of the movie. The random helicopter plot device pissed me off. Coolest part of the whole movie was the 15 second scene when he hacks the computer and sees all the previous attempts right after he learns how the previous attempts were dealt with.

Star Wars TFA - 10/10. Loved this movie. People expected a movie full of 100% developed characters in a stand alone film, and when they got an introduction to a trilogy with characters still in development and a ton of open ended questions to be answered in the next movie they turned on it hard. It was fantastic and at the end of the trilogy we'll look back at how awesome the whole thing was. Lawrence Kasdan is a genius.

Ant-Man - 8/10. Solid super hero flick. Enjoyable Movie.

Frank - 9.5/10. Large non-threatening grin. I've probably watched this movie 50 times since i first saw it on Netlix. It is an outstanding movie. Dance all night. Dance all night.

Interstellar - seen it a bunch, but still worth the watch.

The Martian - first time watching it. Loved the movie, might even read the book.

BMS The Rise of Thadland - Great way to reunite the cast after several years. The show was better, but the movie was well worth it. Hoping for more episodes instead of movies though.

Meet the Patels - documentary about an aspiring Indian-American actor who takes his parents advice on setting him up with girls. Really interesting documentary.

Talladega Nights - Been years since I've seen it. Watched it on Netflix. Just as good as the first time. This movie had a really great cast.
