The Rey storyline is ridiculous too, apparently. I actually haven't heard a single thing I would enjoy about this film. Hopefully I'm shocked on Thursday.

There needs to be explanation as to why she's so powerful in the force otherwise doing Jedi Mind tricks and force pulls before even knowing anything about the force is just bad writing.
I don't mind the random parents thing. It was really the fanbase that read way too much into that.

Damn I read it.
They should have just done the Zahn books, that guy got the essence of the series. The Thrawn trilogy would have been perfect.

I don't mind that too much, though I wish they wouldn't have teased it like they did. They knew that was just going to fuel fan theories on finding out who her parents are because that is a pretty prevalent them for Star Wars main characters.
The no apparent training in anything she does besides just hand to hand fighting is what will piss me off. Force abilities and flying abilities with no real shown or talked about ability is just bad writing.

The most plausible explanation is that not all the details were hashed out when that line was put in the trailer. They may very well have considered Rey to be Luke or Leia's daughter at some point then changed their minds.

I just wish they had the storyline mapped out from ep7 to 9. It seems like they’re just making this up as they go.

Damn from what I read today, it seems that most of it could well be true. Unless this guy posted a masterful dialogue translation based on the initial leaks, he posted what is supposedly the entire movie dialogue. Smoke could end up being one of the biggest busts of all time.
