I remember being obsessed with this movie as a kid. I probably had 20 VHS tapes of the spin-offs
It’s on Peacock, so I figured I would show my 2 year old. She’s in love with the show.

Great movie but also made me cry pretty hard as a kid. I'd probably still cry as an adult.

Yeah when Little Foot’s mom dies.. that’s rough. Worse than Mufasa/ Simba for me
Then when he sees his shadow from far away and thinks it’s his mom.. until he realizes it’s his

There is something about Don Bluth's movies that make them feel much darker than other kid's movies. The Secret of Nihm, All Dogs go to Heaven, An American Tale, Anastasia, The Land Before Time..they all had either antagonists that felt inherently evil or really sad scenes like the shadow scene you mentioned.

We had this movie on VHS and I can still remember that ad for Pizza Hut.
Little Foot’s mama dying makes the room dusty to this day.

I hadn't thought about that in years.

This is a film that should be remade with today's technological advances.

Yeah so sad, think she was 10. She passed before the premiere of All Dogs go to Heaven IIRC. The song “Love survives” was added to the movie as a tribute to her.

The animation is perfect. It’s like going into a time machine

As a kid it bothered me that carnivores hung out with herbivores

I prefer the Land of the Lost.
