I read while back that they're only doing like 2 specials per season... That means the whole year only gets you 2 episodes.

Yes, the specials are great, but I figured we'd at least get around 5 specials a year now that the tent shows are gone.

And BTW, just imagine how incredible an old BBC Top Gear episode would have been with Clarkson interviewing Matt Damon and Christian Bale for Ford v. Ferrari promotions..

Thats what I really miss about the old shows. When they had A legit guest on and Clarkson was really into the subject matter.

The show peaked too early for the things possible for them to do. I still re watch old top gear episodes. Seasons 8-17 were top notch television

Where can you find the old originals? My boys and I both live them but they’re MIA on streaming services.

The Top Gear boat episodes were some of the very best.

You beat me!

ETA The Hamster "Going below is like climbing into a teenager's sock".

Gotta get me some Thang Super Bass speakers!

A coonass/river rat would have brought the right boat... A Go-Devil surface drive FTW.

Hammond: "I'm up on the plane now" video shows him plowin' the bow at ~45 knots.

I freakin need that PBR! Mount tandem .50s on the bow and go all Apocalypse Now on the Diversion Canal!

Going to try to watch it tonight.

Also, while not Grand Tour related James May has a special coming out next month with Amazon Prime called Man in Japan. The preview looks interesting so I’ll have to watch this too.

All of the references to the HMS Pornography.
The locals were great. The look on the two women's face when Clarkson was spraying his deodorant was priceless. That was getting a bit sketchy there at the end. Glad to have the three back.

Look, it wasn't Mongolia or Vietnam 1 or North Pole or Amazon special good, but it was still more entertaining than anything else just to have these 3 back.

I think the ending, along with the time Clarkson almost drove off a mountain side in the Land Rover, was probably the most dangerous thing they've ever done.

I truly thought May's pleasure craft was going to snap in half.

I don't think we'll ever see them in boats again.

It also makes me sad to look at how they've aged and to know these guys can't be doing this stuff that much longer. Clarkson and May are basically 60 and Hammond has had so many crashes he's a walking liability. I honetsly don't know he gets insured anymore.

I'd imagine Clarkson telling Damon that Ford is shite compared to the elegance of a Ferrari while Hammond would be saying, there's a reason they beat Ferrari...the Ford GT is awesome!

I imagine Clarkson would say the Ford was shite because the alarm system was shite.

Sketchy for sure. How great if this trip would have been from houston to NOLA stopping at little fishing villages for fuel. They could have stopped at Arties

I think it was not as bad as editing made it seem basically Maurepas during a bad summer storm. They appeared to be in mostly head seas with a little quartering chop but not enough to be of major concern to the two bigger boats. If you notice they didn't seem to use any throttle control and just jumped off the top of the waves. They seemed to use that footage over and over. Backing off going down into the trough is constant work and wears you out but it is better than beating you and the boat to death.

The one that was surely a nightmare was Captain Slow's boat. That narrow beam was begging to swamp.

I'll make that trip any day, even in the wooden boat, before I take Hamster's ride in the Vampire or Rimac Concept One.
