I think Clarkson carries a sadness with him now. At least it’s felt that way since the end of Top Gear. His marriage was failing, no?

He does come across as happier and freer in this.

IDK, they all sort of come across as raging alcoholics. At least in the Vietnam tour. Hammond looks like shite for his age with sunken eyes and crows feet and Clarkson's got the biggest beer belly...and they're always making cocktails.

The Vietnam tour seemed forced to me and they all looked like they're too old and tired for these fake set-ups and shennanigans.

I lost my shite when Clarkson was cleaning the interior of his Bentley and happily says “showroom fresh” and then it cuts to May’s mud slop-covered travesty

The smug face after the drag race was great also. When he is in a good mood its great.

I enjoy the specials but mainly because I crave content from the 3 of them, to me the specials have grown a bit stale and I much preferred the show format with car reviews, car talk, etc., with that the content stays fresh with new cars. The specials all follow a similar format, Clarkson has something the most sensible, Hammond has something a bit wild, May has something obscure and always underpowered. I’ll watch every new special they produce and if that’s the content they want to make, so be it.

You can’t lie that watching Clarkson flog a new 2021 M3 while moaning about how terrible the grill is isn’t great television.

Is that really what the new M3 looks like? Woof. I liked the old days where the M's barely looked different than the base models. Just enough different that those who knew what they were looking for could tell.

I'd imagine people in that part of the world have a little more tolerance for delays than first world people.

Overall decent episode, but I agree that the "special" episode is not so special these days. They're fun, but I like cars, so I like the old format with news, reviews, lap times, etc. Top Gear's current iteration isn't too bad if you don;t compare it to what it was. I really like Chris Harris. His youtube channel is awesome.
