Highly underrated Coen Bros movie

Really? I thought it was one of their more disappointing movies.

A lot of people did when it came out. Which is why it’s underrated

Rewatch it. It’s an excellent movie and almost like a sister movie to Death of Stalin

It’s fricking hilarious.

And a lot more accurate than most would assume.

I’d also recommend Hail Caesar! to anyone who enjoyed the death of Stalin

Highly underrated Coen Bros movie

I heard bad things but ended up really enjoying it.

I feel like it got a bad wrap due to high expectations from the Coen Brothers and the advertising made it seem like something it wasn’t

This thread inspired my wife and I to just watch Death of Stalin. Absolutely hilarious. Now I’m even more curious about Russian history. Always was, but this movie wet my appetite for more.

I would also love to see Russian TV shows and movies, especially newer ones.

Pick up the Gulag Archipelago and give it a read.

It’s actually kind of interesting to watch something like Death of Stalin and then watch Chernobyl and follow the threads of incompetence and looking-out-for-number one that were so pervasive in that government, despite 33 years between the two events
