The Chief from Psych (Karen Vick). What’s her point?

I understand they need a chief, but why does she get so much screen time? I have no problem with he actor and it makes sense that she’s in the background, leading meetings, approving cases etc.....

I just don’t know why they build stories around her, like hiring Sean to pick her a nanny, the whole interim to not interim storyline. Is there a reason they want to give the actor more screen time? Her plot lines are just pointless and a waste of time on a great show

The show is how old now and this is what you spend your time thinking about?

are you trying to get us to do the women aren't funny route on one of the best tv comedies of all time? the chief was perfect as was everyone else on the show.

They did over a 100 episodes, of course the fricking Chief is going to get a few storylines.

Not at all, women are plenty funny, it just seemed like several of her storylines were forced and pointless

It was a procedural dramedy that only had a handful of long and short term story arcs. I think you could argue that most storylines were forced and pointless.

Every character can’t be funny. You have to have some straight laced characters to allow the comedic elements to come and go through the episodes.

She was cute and provided a good framing device.

Besides this, give us an example

Even in this episode, it’s not like she was the focus

I remember her being pregnant for a large portion of the first season, and I thought it would be funny if they wrote the character to be pregnant for the entire run of the show as a running gag.
