So they win 2 Michelin Stars and Carmen congratulates Sydney. And she accepts it.
But he was the head chef when the judge guy came.
Can someone explain this? I’m annoyed as hell. Haha!

The judge ate Sydney’s version of the seared scallops dish when he came.

Never ask questions about The Bear. Pretentiousness deserves no questions. Those writers loved smelling their own farts.

He was congratulating her on having a 2 start restaurant.

Still upsets me that they call it a comedy for awards show reasons.

Way too accurate. This show lost me awhile back

It's easily the worst highly rated show in my lifetime.

That he created.
That was his when the star man came
Where he was the chef when the star man came.
They didn’t get a star because of her one scallop dish.
Even on disaster night he bailed them out with the short rib dish. It’s her dish but she was too scared to do it. He made the brioche to save the dessert.
I’m irrationally annoyed. Haha!

It’s TV. Got to have the black female take the lead, be the smart one, etc..

I bailed after the second episode
Didn’t interest me, but all my friends said ‘oh, ya gotta watch this’

Some of it was brilliant. Some of it was utter crap.
I agree that the writers loved sniffing their own butts and thinking it was Chanel.

The entire Sydney arc is stupid
It's just one unearned thing after another. Nobody becomes a 2 star Michelin chef wringing their hands and being unable to make decisions. It's neither realistic nor entertaining.
Better ending would have been Sydney helping them get a star, deciding she's not cut out for the life because she's not a sociopath and doesn't want that life, and Carmy deciding that even though he doesn't want to do this anymore he's born to do it and really doesn't have a choice.

Honestly The Bear isn't the worst in this regard, it's not that bad/distracting.
But anyone who watched it and think about it will note that the characters of color generally have flaws that are lovable and the white characters all have flaws that are destructive/abusive.

I don’t think Sydney’s flaw is loveable since everyone hates her arse but loves Carmy.
