This is freaking absurd 6 years for a sequel

J.J. Abrams’ sci-fi fantasy movie The Great Beyond starring Glen Powell and Jenna Ortega won’t be opening on Nov. 13, rather it’s moving to Oct. 1, 2027, setting off a chain reaction for Warner Bros and sending Matt Reeves’ highly anticipated The Batman Part II, which was on that date, to Feb. 18, 2028.

What's going to happen first? Winds of Winter or The Batman Part 2?

Villenueve is going to have made all 3 Dune films on a vast, epic scale in the time it took from the start of filming Batman 1 and with Batman 2 still over a year away

It had a successful box office run and has done really well on HBO Max. You also had a spinoff show that's very popular.

The Batman is a good film (especially compared to the shite James Gunn is pumping out) but 6 years between films is ridiculous. We’re seeing the same thing with Bond.

How fricking stupid can you be. I wonder if Gunn put a new Batman in MOT as a cameo and they’re giving it room to breathe or something

Hate that it’ll be in February when it’s a winter setting as well, we’ll almost be in Spring mode

The Penguin absolutely pushed it further into the mainstream (which was excellent by the way). I thought it was a good movie and well cast.

I really like the first two acts. Some scenes just felt like it was ripped straight from a graphic novel. And the cinematography was amazing. The 3rd act was clunky and too long. That big set piece felt like studio interference to me.

If you're talking about the HBO show I enjoyed it much more than the movie. For me there's a big break after the first two Nolan films for the rest of the Batman world. A lot of stuff I'd call worth watching but I thought the first two were standouts.

The first one made 800 million at the box office, had high audience and critic scores, and had a spin off that won nine Emmy's. Yea, it's pretty anticipated

This long break in between movies isn't helping though that's for sure.

Ok. Tyler Perry is worth 1.4 billion. Is the next Madea movie highly anticipated?

It was an honest question, as I don't really follow box office numbers. I thought it was mediocre. Apparently a lot of folks liked it.

Yeah, I am. I think the excellent performances in the show really help bolster the movie itself for the general mainstream.

Agreed. It's not in my Top 3 per se, but I do think there's potential there with the universe of characters for a sequel to be pretty good.

I haven't re-watched the first since I first caught it on Max but it was meh to me

-Didn't really care for emo batman
-Riddler was more whiney bitch than menacing psycho
-I didn't really like the twist on Bruce's parents either

or incel riddler. He’s supposed to be one of Batman’s biggest foes intellectually

I didn’t care that much but there was some subtle messaging in it

I was just giving you an honest answer of why it's anticipated. Wasn't trying to hate on you. It was indeed very popular. For comparison, it made twice as much as Batman Begins. I think Batman Begins is better and Nolan revived Batman from the grave so Reeve's Batman benefited from that, but it was very well received by most.

The biggest complaint on here was that he was a mopey Bruce Wayne and not a playboy, which for the life of me I will never understand why people don't get that that was the point. He's solely focused on being Batman and a detective that he has no interest in being a playboy at that point and will have to learn to be one. Which I'm sure while come in part two.
