There were plenty of movies more deserving of being nominated every year that aren’t nominated due to politics. The Academy Awards is a political organization. Hence you get things like Toy Story 4 winning

I heard Hair Story was great. The idea for the movie was from an NFL player who got asked by his daughter to braid his hair and he had no clue what to do.

The CROWN Act is a California law which prohibits discrimination based on hair style and hair texture by extending protection for both categories under the FEHA and the California Education Code. It is the first legislation passed at the state level in the United States to prohibit such discrimination

I thought that black guy's speech was really good. Made me google the Crown Act so it brought awareness to a law that me and most people have never heard of before.
