Of course. The writers of this show put together a 50 piece puzzle ahead of time and left 4 pieces out. Only problem is they left out the 4 corner pieces, leaving very little to the imagination

I would've been intrigued if it were introduced halfway through the pilot. Why should I care about his son just because it was tossed in there at the last minute? Because he is the key to "everything?" Yeah, okay. Time travel isn't enough to keep me hooked

The others angle from lost and cheesy dinosaurs kinda rubbed me the wrong way, that and the acting of too many adolescent/children.

That was terrible. Stopped after the first hour and watched the new CW show...it had better dialogue.

I liked it, and so did the gf. It was straightforward and nothing too exciting, but we enjoyed it a lot. I love dinosaur-type shite like I said, so that's cool for me. The scenery looks fantastic. The acting and SFX are a bit subpar, but that's not terribly surprising. It's interesting enough to keep me tuned in for a while.

I don't understand the bitching about the daughter...they gave enough of an explanation for me to buy the time travel thing. Sure, there are some questions (like how they know it works and they aren't just sending people into the portal to their death), but it was good enough for me.

I like the whole "sixer" angle. Not sure why people are pissed because they're "like the Others from Lost." Well, any "opposing group in the jungle" is gonna be like the Others. It's nothing like Lost IMO...and they actually have some power because of the ore that they are able to harvest, so they can actually make trades with the Terra Nova community.

The son is a complete bitch though. He's mad because his dad was trying to protect his family and went to prison? It's not like he raped and murdered people...he was trying to save their daughter/sister from being taken away. And he had to leave his gf behind, but he was whisked away to paradise and meets a cute chick and welcoming friends about 30 minutes after being there. Yeah, your life sucks a ton, a-hole...

Also, I want one of those laser things that she snuck him in prison. That was cool.

All in all, this show was pretty good I thought. It was what Falling Skies should've been...a solid new show with a cool premise that I can get into. I'll still watch both, but I have a feeling I'm gonna enjoy TN much more than I did FS.

One of my questions was if that laser technology was readily available, why isn't it employed in larger weapons and being used on the dinosaurs?

Good question. Maybe they do have that stuff, but it's severely limited (energy source or some shite?). Who knows.

I thought the beginning of the show, the part set in the future, looked pretty cool. Definitely not high-budget SFX, but I thought it looked legit.

Any show with Allison Miller in it gets my attention. She was in Kings.

I thought the pilot was decent enough to keep me watching. I suspect that Taylor's son may be even farther back in time than they are since Taylor mentioned he was the first one through and even though it was only seconds on the other side before the next person came through he had to spend 118 days alone there. His son may be sending him those rock messages from thousands or more years in the past. He said his son was lost but not when or how. That was probably the most interesting angle so far on the show for me at least.

It sounded more like his son had run off on his own and was continuing to work on some secret that is the real reason behind why they traveled back in time.

This basically came off as a slightly better Fallen Skies.

I've seen shows start with the basics like this before and turned into something more given time. I'll keep up with it for a bit but I don't expect it to ever be the next Lost or Fringe.

+1 on the interest in Taylors son. They actually could've cut out some of the other mystery subplots and left us with just that and I would've been happy.

Yeah, agreed on that being the most interesting angle of the pilot. Interested to see how that plays out.
