I figured since today started early access showings, I figured we could get the spoiler thread going.

I just got home. Went to the 6 pm showing at the AMC Dolby in BR.

Wow. So much to process. It's definitely the most Christopher Nolan has Christopher Nolan'd.

So from what I gathered, The Protagonist was the one that went back to save everyone. It was all his idea.

Basically the end of the movie was sort of the beginning.

Based on my post watching reading of Wikipedia yes this is what happened. But that’s a paradox. So just another Nola film

Said the same thing funny that in my opinion Wes Anderson’s last film was his most west Andersony and Tarantino’s last film was his most Tarantinoey

I mean obviously the timeline isn't linear, as it was stated multiple times in the movie by the characters.

But man did he throw out all the rules here

There was an actual quote at the beginning by the girl showing him how everything worked that was along the lines of,

"The rules aren't even worth explaining" lol

I Lold at that. At that point I knew this movie would be pretty off the rails for better or worse.

The movie delivers. Washington and Pattinson make a strong action team. The time travel plot works. Unfortunately the Dolby at AMC O’Neil audio was distorted and most of the dialogue was a chore to understand. We’ll see it again this weekend in a regular theater.

This gives me a lot of hope for Pattinson as Batman. In a movie with all physical effects, he held his own.

With time travel you expect to predict some of the interactions in the first reel being certain characters from the third reel from a different perspective. I didn’t predict most of these correctly.

I sort of had a feeling that either JDW or Pattinson had seen themselves earlier in the movie.

During the art room/plane scene, JDW asks him what happened to the "Other guy"?

When Pattinson responded that he "took care of it", I had a feeling that it was one of their future or past selves.

I thought it was a fake out. Making us distrust Pattinson. I didn’t see the real answer coming.

Oh they did, but there was just so much going on. It wasn't point A to point B linear like normal. But with Nolan it never is.

Yeah that was pretty cool. I never thought Neil (RP) was a bad guy, but he was definitely mysterious lol

ETA: I Just realized that Neil saved The Protagonist in the opera house at the beginning lol

If you need to see a movie more than once to understand it, then it is a poorly written movie.

Well of course. We all know that films that get better with multiple viewings are poorly written films. Memento, Fight Club...

You don't need to see it more than once to have a general sense of the plot, what's occurring on screen, or the motivation of the characters.

You do have to see it more than once to unwind all of the intricate timelines and details that become apparent as your understanding of the premise grows.

That's not poor writing, it's good film-making. It's very similar to Memento in this regard.

I don't think it was just your theatre. The sound mixing in the movie was awful. I couldn't understand a good chunk of the dialogue
