I thought the same the first time I watched it.

My fiancée's brother and SiL came down a couple weeks ago, and we decided to get them into the show. Re-watched the whole season over that weekend, and I actually found it much funnier the second time.

Although, watching with a bigger group was probably part of it.

It has a formula that at first feels unnatural. Big problem, easy to explain away but it’s a show so it’ll drag on 3 episodes right? No, they move right past it as simply as it should be in real life. Once you realize that actually works and the show is about the character growth and developing relationships and not the drama and crazy plots it becomes super enjoyable.

Started it here too after reading about it on this board. Fantastic show. Thought it would be a dumb comedy because I remember the snl skit but I was really surprised how they made it into a much deeper show that is also really funny.

Not that I am aware of. I was able to sign up for a free year and then it’s 4.99 /month. Probably just cancel the subscription, after a year, unless they add some better content.
