Honestly I think Missy comes out looking the worst as it was originally her idea to use Dan's inappropriate touching as a gameplay weapon, then Elizabeth for going along with it and lying to Janet about it, then lying to Dan. Lying is part of Survivor obviously, but it crosses a line when it's something that could really affect a person's real life. Fortunately the interviews and such were all more honest so I don't think Dan comes out looking like a total perv. He's awkward, sure, and probably did cross some lines, but he's not as bad as some thought.

Agree with all of this.

I’m pretty sure Dan will be most upset with Missy at the finale, and most apologetic to Kelli and Janet.

Liz was very straight forward in her interviews about not really caring at all and just going along with the plan for game play, which I do think vindicates Dan a good bit.

She did admit to Dan she said what Janet told him when Janet confronted her, but then immediately backtracked to Dan and was like I was only saying what she wanted to hear.

I’d have to go back and see who voted for who, but the fact that Kelli went home with two idols shows how much those other women were playing up and taking advantage of her actual feelings.

I really think they are the bad guys in all of this, and Kelli should be the one to call them out for taking advantage of what was a genuinely upsetting experience for her. That type of abuse of the power of allegation is what makes it harder for actual victims to come forward and like I said, it’s is victimizing her a second and likely more damaging time.

And Jamal banging the drum for always believing women when they were lying is just plain funny and needs to get a mention when this is all discussed at live finale

Kellee, Jamal, Janet, and Stabbyhands voted for Dan. I think all the rest voted for Kellee.

Kellee was counting on Missy, Elizabeth, and Lauren voting for Dan as well, but from what I remember they all voted for her.

Come on. Kellee said in one of her interviews with producers that it was a great opportunity to get Missy out of her way.

You just admitted you thought it was a genuinely upsetting experience for her. And now she's lying? Which is it?

I’ve been very clear in my posts that I said I thought Kelli was genuinely unsettled by his behavior.

When I said “they” were lying I meant Missy, Liz, Beck, and Elaine, as Kelli was already voted out and wasn’t part of that tribal.

Do you not agree that Kelli was genuinely upset by Dan?

Do you believe her or not?

So you’re of the opinion that Kelli can’t be genuinely upset and still be able to put the game first?

I know you didn’t see things my way on the “buff” issue, but not sure why you’re taking issue with me on this when I’m absolutely defending Kelli’s sincerity in her feelings towards Dan’s behavior.

I think she was victimized by both him and the other women.

Fair enough.

I do. I think Missy wasn't comfortable with it either, but not to the level Kellee was. I don't think it bothered Elizabeth all that much, if at all.

But even still, it's odd to criticize Jamal's comments. I don't think his comments were only directed at the "they" you mentioned.

Sure, and I think she was genuinely bothered by Dan's actions towards her. I just think she manipulated the situation in an unflattering way.

On Dan, I agree. Not sure I agree on the other women. I do think Missy is a huge threat and wanting her out is smart. I just didn't agree with the manner in which she handled it. But I admit I may have missed some subtleties in the machinations, so I really need to re-watch the episode to get a clearer picture. I'll also admit I'd become a huge Missy fan, so I may be looking at it with some bias.

They showed Missy commenting on it and she was similar to Liz in that she seemed to find it kind of creepy in a funny way that they all joked about.

She specifically said in no way did I ever feel uncomfortable or threatened in any way.

I think those interviews came after the production intervention and they wanted to make it very clear.

Missy seems like a pretty hard core chick hat wouldn’t hesitate to speak her mind.

Missy is definitely very smart and a really good player. Cold blooded even

But she’s there to win no doubt about it.

I would say her reaction when Janet called her and Liz out turned me off a good bit. Liz looked Janet in the eye and admitted that she did complain to her about Dan. Of course she then played damage control with Dan once Janet walked away, but she didn’t straight up lie and say I never said that.

Missy sat stone faced and never even considered trying to throw Janet a bone either in that exchange or at tribal.

I just think they didn’t need to take it to the level they did with Janet who was honestly trying to put their own well being over her own game, and she even kept saying it was in Dan’s best interests as well to get him out of that environment based on what the girls were saying. She really was the only selfless and completely genuine one in the whole situation.

Janet has become my favorite for sure.

Well sure, he was making a bigger point.

But it isn’t odd at all to criticize such an absolute statement that “men have a responsibility to believe” all accusations when the micro set of events in question cleary showed the flawed hyperbole of his macro position because several of the women in that situation were in fact lying and believing them would have brought harm to Dan, who they all, other than Kelli to an extent, agreed didn’t deserve it.

That’s the problem with absolutism like the one he used, there is always an infinite spectrum of gray in between “believe everyone” and “believe no one”.

Janet was right on the money again when she said men have a responsibility to “listen” not necessarily to “believe”.

Like I said though, I did appreciate Jamal shooting down Aaron’s primitive notion that if there was a problem he and they all would have known.

He just took that defense of the women, and all women, too far.

Jamal is clearly smart and well intentioned, but he’s still young and has a lot to learn imo.

shite, I was drunk last week. Apologize for being irritated so easily. 12 hour work days do that to me. Off today, though.

I just hope tonight is all about game. I've watched since the first episode of season 1. I don't watch so I can be "woke". I'm here for the game. I'll stick through this crappy season because next season looks great and I can't wait.

2 black people were voted out on the same night. That has to be a first.
Maybe Jeff should talk about that.

Haha. I'll take it. I'm half-Hispanic(Panama) and I could care less about this crap. I root for the best player, whether it was Jeremy in Second Chance or Parvati in any season she's in. I'm enjoying Elaine the most this season.

It’s pretty close between her and Karishma, but yeah her treatment of Karishma tonight sealed it for me and made that an extremely satisfying conclusion

Even her “I was taking you to the end” to Karishma was such a back handed remark, she really is cold blooded

Seeing Kelli enjoy her comeuppance was pretty cool

With Aaron being one of my least favorite since Day 1 those were two very satisfying tribals.

Tommy is probably my least favorite now, with Janet still my favorite. At some point she’s going to be an easy out though. No one will be taking her to the end.

For all the complaints about this season, this was another couple of tribals where I really had no idea who was going home. I liked that Rob and Sandra were just as clueless and split on who was going, that was probably the only worthwhile moment they’ve had on the season.
