re: Survivor season 38 thread: Edge of extinction
That would have been a fun twist.

I'm surprised that Gavin wasn't a bigger target after Devens won immunity... I think he's a bigger threat than Aurora at the end, but I guess that might just be the editing.

Definitely smart to keep Julie around though.

Same. Mostly because we have to hear reem's mouth the whole season ! Devens is easily the favorite and has been for weeks. His work during the last two tribals was awesome. playing the advantage only to turn around and play a real idol. Then bluffing playing the idol for julie and getting aurora voted out. The rest are just playing for 2nd place. Gavin has at least shown up in challenges and the likability factor makes him number 2 at this point. The girls really have nothing to sell the jury on. Other than maybe alliances the had with jurors. That kitty was trying to peek out of the purple panties

Yep, everything you said is spot on. If Devens makes it to the final 3, he wins. No one has done anything even close to deserve it. Gavin is definitely in the 2 spot.

I don't think they could chance not believing his bluff. I was like there is no way he is giving her that idol but stranger things have happened.

Lauren, my gosh, what a little hottie

I wish the twist would have been (or, will be in future seasons) that after the "extinction" group get to equal numbers as the remaining, they all come back as a Tribe. So, while the dweebs are all voting out the "challenge threats" and "strong players" they are actually building a Super Tribe that will take them on. When I look at the "Jury" vs the "Players", I think...'hell, I'd rather watch the Jury tribe going at it.
That's a great idea! It would be hilarious, that's for sure.

Normally I'd agree, but I think they've been used very well this season to add suspense and intrigue.

This season was pretty boring until the last few weeks. Devens getting out of so many jams has been awesome to watch. He's running laps around everyone else left in the game. I was dying laughing at him running around the island while they chased him. Hope he can keep it going and win the thing.

It sounded like in the previews the only was someone from EOE gets back in the game is winning the immunity challenge, but maybe that's just another head fake from the producers.

And gatdamn can Lauren's little bikini bottoms be any smaller? Such a distraction while I'm trying to watch.

I was thinking this too. The jury has all of the interesting players. The biggest downfall to the way the game is setup is that "threats" are voted out so early on, but I guess it makes the most sense. Guys like Joe never have a chance unless they do something like next week and they bring him back into the game in the last vote.

Even then, how is anyone going to win coming back from Extinction after not voting in tribals or being a part of the game for however many days? I can't see that person getting a ton of votes. Devens wins in a landslide if he can get there, and I think he will.

right. imagine reem winning the comp and getting back in the game? what a colossal waste of time that would be.

Very true but would be great for those left in the game.

I mentioned that to my wife last night. I'd like to see that even if the Super Tribe vs remainders were next season.

Me too. He must be the nicest guy in the world or they haven't been paying him attention. He's been pretty savy in staying out of the danger zone.

Booty shots are soooooo distracting.

Has every episode of survivor this season ended with Reem voicing some some debbie downing quip?

Since both Aubry and Wentworth both went to EOE with idols in their pockets, don't those idols technically "go back into the game"? That would be my only guess as to why Devens found two of them in the last few weeks.

But on a more serious note, Lauren's bottoms:

I think they would only be in play if one of them gets back in the game but I may be wrong

Uh, it wasn’t just the booty last night Cdawg. There was some frontal exposure that you don’t see everyday on network TV

Typically they start with one at each beach/camp, and if one is played then another one is hidden.

When they merge, there is one hidden at the merged camp... again if one is played then another one is hidden.

The first one Devens found was the merged camp idol, and then once he played it at tribal a new one was placed.

I thought someone mentioned that the idols are dead once someone gets voted out. So I think Devens found the one that went out once Wentworth got voted out then found the next one after he played his at tribal.

I was also thinking last week about the family showing up and still salute Johnny FairPlay. To lock in going on reward with the dead grandma line and needing more info is stuff of legends.
