I am very late to this series...never seen it before.

I like it good enough but I am getting tired of the constant shite between the brothers. It seems like the director/writers, just manufacture conflict between them constantly. Just kill some fricking monsters/demons/angels or whatever.

I am on season 7 at the moment. Does thing payoff? Does Castiel make a comeback?

I am not worried about spoilers.

Also, it seems like they just "mail in" about 3 episodes per season...sometimes those can be good but I wish I could tell from the outset that this particular episode does nothing to move the overall plot along.

Been a while and I was late to it as well and never actually finished the entire series (still plan to though)

But if i remember correctly Seasons 1-5 was the perfect story arc. I think i had heard that was all the original plan was. If i remember seasons 6/7 were my least favorite then it got good again. Think i paused around season 11 or so.

The characters are enjoyable enough that you can probably keep watching as long as you want to, but when you save the universe every 24 episodes, coming up with good escalations and credible threats keeps getting harder.

They spend 24 hours a day together, seeing and killing things that want to kill or eat them, and all around never having fun or vacations. I think you would fight with your brother constantly, too. Hell, after 5 days of vacation with the wife and kids, I can't wait to get away from those monsters when we get back.

I’ve watched the entire series. And enjoyed it for the most part but it is quite repetitive after a while.

As a Previous poster mentioned, it was only supposed to be 5 seasons. The first 5 seasons work really well together and gives you a good ending.

After that they had to make up more shite and the main plot throughout the seasons is kind of blehhh. Enjoyed the weekly monster episodes more.

The best episode did come after season 5. The French mistake in season 6 episode 15

I don't remember when it was I stopped watching, but yeah season 1-5 had a great arc. I think in 6/7 they struggled to find the magic again, but it did get better again after that.

Show was planned for 5 seasons. Those 5 seasons are great. It was such a hit by CW standards that they threw money at them to keep going. That's what they did and the story suffers at times but the core characters of Sam, Dean, Castiel, Bobby, Crowley, and eventually Lucifer with Rowena in seasons 10-15 make it enjoyable.

I enjoy the show even after the initial arc. I think the cast has great chemistry and the season long storylines aren’t that bad lmo after the first five seasons.

I really need to do a rewatch.

My wife just watched through seasons 1-15 a few months ago.

I think Supernatural has possibly the best mythos development in any series. And it's not just b/c it goes on for so long, b/c it's pretty established by season 4.

Seasons 1-5 have the original writers and creator working on them. Same guy who runs "The Boys" on Amazon now. Left after season 5.

Also why you see lots of Supernatural nods on The Boys if you look for them.

Far and away the best seasons of the series, IMO

There is an ultimate payoff in the series, yes

The issue is the last part of the final season was filmed during the height of COVID and it really affected how the end came across in a negative way (they couldn't get the actors needed etc)

I liked the first few seasons, then it became a hate watch to make me go to sleep. I got bored with the same thing over and over.

Season 12 I kind of started liking again, but in season 13 I’m back to hate watching and being stubborn about finishing it

Also sam (who will always still be dean to me) is annoying af and was my least favorite of all of rory’s boyfriends.

Probably why I only liked a few seasons.
