They fell down in pain because one of them was being burned and the show was making a point that they are all connected through the hive mind and when you hurt one you hurt them all.

Just finished. Man. Pretty disappointed so far. Just sooooo much plot and info dump every. single. episode. Sooooo much happening that we hardly spent time with any of the characters outside of Hop/El, Robin/Will, which is fine but we’re not breaking any new ground with any of their interactions. Everyone has gone back to being extreme versions of themselves like back in Season 3.
Covid REALLY fricked this show up because the quality of the writing and dialogue is late stage MCU bad. Nothing comparable to Season 1 and 4 and somehow worse than 2&3. Just moving everything from point A to point B with a few quips and screaming here and there. Maybe it gets better but it really goes to show how much Sadie Sink (Max) and Joseph Quinn (Eddie) carried so much of last season through their emotional character journeys. And you felt those journeys in Season 1 with Hop, Jonathan, the boys, Joyce and even Nancy with Barb. None of that heart or character moments are here. Just pure plot, let’s wrap this up. Almost every piece of dialogue didn’t even feel like the characters talking to each other, but to us

Maybe I underestimated just how bad most of the actors are. Maybe Max and Eddie really covered up just how bad some of these actors are. Mike, Will, El, Robin, Erica are actually unbearable whereas in Season 4 they were at least tolerable. Dustin, Steve and Lucas are just ok but I felt like were highlights in other seasons. Jonathan was really good the first two seasons but he’s gone downhill since and is phoning it in. Can’t really blame him. They give him nothing interesting to do besides compete for Nancy. Joyce and Hopper are carrying but it’s just not enough. There’s not enough emotional character journeys left besides Will’s and it feels like we’ve been on that journey since Season 3…it feels like we’re watching a show that just doesn’t have many more places for its characters to go and do anymore besides beat Vecna. Maybe it’s not entirely on them.
I mean they writers bringing up Hopper’s Season 1 emotional journey with the death of his daughter into THIS season. They're just out of ideas. They’re not letting these characters, outside of Dustin, to grow and be different, have different struggles, different arcs to go through. frick I hate being this negative but I’m just disappointed fellas
