The short version - It's not an epic saga like LOTR. It's written more like a fairy tale, a smaller story, which ends with an awoken dragon and a massive battle. There's no reason it needed to be 3 movies, other than to milk the cow.
correct I addressed that above.

The forced dwarf + elf love story was cringe.
I agree but doesn't ruin the movie in any way
quote:
Azog wasn't a book character.
Correct but that didn't ruin the movie in any way

Goblin Chief was lame, and the CG was just awful in the Goblin den.
Yes. was only 10 minutes of the movie.
Smaug was great. The dwarves were great. Gandalf and the others were great with the extended edition scenes with Sauron. The elves were great

Singularly, no, but as these things added up, it made for a hot mess, imo.

Smaug was magnificent. Benedict Cumberbatch nailed it.
Dwarves mostly worked for me.
I felt for Sir Ian and the CG crap he had to deal with in filming The Hobbit. It nearly broke him.
Lee Pace as Thranduil was so spot on. Elves could be real dicks to the other races.

I feel like if it was only 2 movies it would be looked at much different.

will be co-writer with Stephen Colbert
who do you think is gonna be calling the shots in that situation? the person that wrote the screenplay for the return of the king or the person who has never wrote a movie in their life? it's like some of you have never had a job or understand how seniority works.

Be a minor contributor, or a co-writer?

Help write the movie.

Co-writer does not mean equal in terms of contribution or workload.
There were 4 co-writers on FOTR and TTT, they went down to 3 for ROTK.
Do you think because he was a co-writer on the first two Stephen Sinclair had as much input as Peter Jackson?

Per AI:
quote:
The screenplay for The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (FOTR) is credited to three main writers, not four:
Fran Walsh
Philippa Boyens
Peter Jackson

Apparently sinclair was only a credited writer on The Two Towers

just blessed with the common sense to know you don't just give someone that has never written a movie before more control than the person on the team that wrote the greatest trilogy of all time.

There are 4 credited co-writers for Shadows of the Past
Peter Jackson, Philippa Boyens, Colbert, and his son, Peter McGee.
There is no evidence to suggest all 4 will not have equal input, other than your imagination

My man Freaux..... no sense arguing with the clown. He probably believes the mainstream media has always been unbiased and the only biased news is fox.
