Just finished watching it when I saw it offered on my streaming service. Probably been at least 10 years since I last watched it and it holds up well for a movie 36 yrs. old.
Excellent work by Sean Penn, Ed Harris, Gary Oldman and Robin Wright Penn, plus a host of other familiar faces from the "Mobster Genre" of film.
Glad I saw it on the menu and decided to watch it.

It's a good movie. Oldman, Harris, and Penn is a pretty good group. I remember the frozen hand trick. The true story of the Westies and the Italian mob from that period is pretty crazy too.

Gary Oldman is one of my favorite actors and he's known for playing "Over the Top" type characters and playing them well.
His take on Jackie Flannigan, the loose cannon in that crime family was great acting and the way his volatility overshadowed logic and reasoning had to lead to his eventual downfall------------and at the hands of his brother making it an even sadder ending for him.
It was art imitating life since there have been several real life Mafia members who were killed by their own blood relatives.
