Without the diversity PC stuff I would have been satisfied. Almost everything complained about in this thread is due to liberal propaganda.

At least in those Star Wars it felt like a Star Wars universe and it was roughly in line in with the originals, George Lucas just went over the top and relied too much on non-plot related things to hype up the movie.

You rip out the gag humor and I really like the movie until Finn meets Rose

This film missed Lawrence Kasdan. He is the one redeeming quality of the Solo film.

I groaned in the very beginning with the Poe phone call bs.

That was the first scene that kicked off the whole idea that the characters act as if they know they're in a Star Wars movie.

Then Luke calling a lightsaber a "laser sword"? Wtf? That just sounded stupid and completely out of place, especially for a supposed "Jedi Master". Just a weird dialogue.

Supposedly Mark Hamill also hated these movies, I can see why.

For some fans, that was a welcome moment of humor—an invitation to laugh at the overwhelming hype building over the last two years. For others, it was a more akin to a slap in the face. But in an interview with Newsweek on Friday, Johnson explained Luke's reaction to Rey was simply the only path forward he saw for the characters.

"I did it because I thought that's what Luke would do," Johnson told Newsweek. "He's made a purposeful choice to walk away from everything, and he's made this Herculean effort to do so. He's taken himself to, as he says, this unfindable place. And then this stranger, a kid, shows up and is a symbol of everything he has left behind."

Of course Luke would dismiss Rey and her lightsaber gift, Johnson said. What else would she expect?

"She holds [the lightsaber] out to him as if to say, 'Here you go, here's what you've been waiting for.' This is everything he's decided to walk away from! So that seems exactly how he would react to me," Johnson said. "Luke goes, 'What do you expect I'm going to do with this? This is everything I left behind!' Toss, walk off."

Jesus Christ....

What the actual frick? I haven't seen the movie yet, but I'm shocked by the reviews on here. I thought Disney had a good thing going with this franchise. It was getting great reviews on RT. I have to say I don't think I've ever been more shocked by a movie reaction.

Worse than E2? Holy frick.

I guess Star Wars fanatics now know how I feel as a DC fanatic. I feel your pain.

Maybe Rian Johnson should stop envisioning present day Luke as a person in 21st century United States of America, and more as someone in the Star Wars universe.

Also, didn't see any of that he mentions in that quote.

If a Star Wars movie has to suck, let it be an Anthology film. The Saga films are too important to mess up.

Not at all. The SJW propaganda is just immensely magnified because of how much other parts of the movie suck as well. It didn’t help though that’s for sure.

Somewhere Hayden Christiansen is breathing a sigh of relief...

That being said I walked away disappointed.

Rey’s parents being drunks
Smoke getting killed(they could have done more with him)
Luke dying
Leia not dying
Finn not being dead
Rose felt forced on the audience(enough stronk wimmins already)
The acceleration of Rey’s powers with no rhyme or reason
No matter what, I can’t buy Adam Driver as a badass Sith Lord.

A lot of the questions that were left after TFA were either unanswered or quickly dismissed. And what was the purpose of the little shite with the ring?

Angry Joe, who is a massive Star Wars fan hated it.

He's also a massive DC fan. He hated this more than he hated BvS. And he was PISSED after BvS.

He talks about it HERE (Spoilers).

He complains about how much this movie fricked up. Bad. Like, irreversible damage to the storyline of the franchise. I'm in complete shock about the reaction to this movie. Why/how did Disney let this happen?

And yet he left bread crumbs with Max Von Sydow and R2-D2 to help the Resistance discover his location? Why would he leave traces of his whereabouts if he never wanted to be found?

And if he was running from his past, why run and hide at the site of the first Jedi Temple? For a man trying to wipe away the memories of the Jedi Order, he sure picked a curious place to do it at.

Yes and this. F*cking stupid arse writing man. I read an article saying that Rian Johnson burned the whole saga down not because he hates Star Wars but because he LOVES it. These frickers have Stockholm Syndrome or some shite.

Obi-Wan went out like a boss actually fighting Vader on the DS. Rian didn't even let Luke do that, he came up with the most BS way to kill Luke off.

Vader choke kills a subordinate through a view screen on a ship: OMFG BADASS MOTHERfrickER.

Luke has a full on saber battle, complete with force pushes to simulate a blade making contact, FROM ACROSS THE GALAXY: Meh.

It’s not like they didn’t show the battle taking a toll. He didn’t just die. He pushed himself too far and too close to the edge.
