Unfortunately for us, he’ll be in every thread parroting some garbage from the 50 YouTube videos he will watch about it instead

I do love this take.
"It's not important...why make such a big deal about it?!?"
"Well, if it's not important, why does this stuff keep getting inserted everywhere?"
silence...
It would be easier if you guys simply said that there can be no pushback to obvious social and political tribalism inserted by The Left, since that's what this take amounts to.

Where did you see that? Is that in the trailer and I just missed it?

It really is odd to see people claim tribalism here, when tribalism is the only reason to include things like this in entertainment. It certainly isn't because the trans cause is popular.

It's a common refrain on this board. "Stop bringing your politics into this!!!"
frick!!!! I didn't start this! For decades I sat back and allowed the few actors that felt the need to be political do so and I mostly ignored them and went to their movies or tv shows if I liked their work. then it became nearly ALL of them, plus directors, and studios, etc. And thanks to the double barrel of dopamine hit of getting likes on social media and the peer pressure of not being the ONLY celebrity to not say something about fricking every issue that comes up, it's become a near nonstop barrage of bullshite.
and when I, a mere consumer of their product, dares suggest I'm tired of their crap and says something or suggests not going to fund their crap any more, there are actually people that want to blame ME for bringing MY politics into where they didn't belong.
Hardy-frickin-har.

I may still watch it when it hits streaming but I'm not supporting that movie financially in theaters
...but you're still supporting the movie by paying for the streaming service that houses it. So even if you don't watch the movie in theaters or even stream it later, you're still supporting it.

No one making the decisions to fund these films views it that way.

Doesn't matter how they view it, they know people will pay for their streaming service no matter what.
I promise you, everyone in this thread that has said they won't watch the movie in theaters is giving money to Sony in some form or fashion.

Are you suggesting Sony's not going after those big streaming dollars?
Obviously, technically, if you subscribe to ANY streaming service, some tiny fraction of that money is going to each and every thing hosted there...which means that you're funding in part things you don't like.
I'm thinking not paying $8 to see it at the theater and instead paying $12 a month for Netflix and having .0001 cents going to Sony is still the better option and the one Sony would prefer less.
But what do I know...

And, in the grand scheme of things, that doesn't matter. Companies make movies like this for the box office numbers, not for streaming.

And?
This is a political reality if you're not on The Left. It's 100% impossible to survive and not have some money go towards things you don't like, unless you live completely off the grid.
The goal isn't to go 100%, but to cut it down to less than 50%. Make an effort to spend less than 50% of your money with companies that dislike you and are working to do things you dislike.
This is not an issue for The Left. Not that they don't love getting mad and boycotting things, it's just that most things are already aligned with their worldview. What are they gonna' boycott? Ted Nugent concerts? My Pillow?

Try the mental gymnastics all you want, companies make movies for money... and you're giving them money.

You're the only one spinning here. No one making these decisions sees it this way. If movies meant for the theater don't make money at the box office, they're failures.

So what? They won't get the 6+ tickets I would have been buying to go see this. Or do you not believe that lost revenue counts? Liberal math is tricky

Wait, do ya'll want to harm trans kids? I thought the entire opposition was to protect trans kids until they weren't kids anymore and let them make decisions as an adult????
