It's unintentional comedy and 'splosions. Nothing more.

You should try to force yourself to watch the series finale just to laugh at how seriously the writers and directors took themselves. It's hilari-bad.

I dropped off pretty quickly and would watch randomly when nothing else was on, until maybe the final season or two. The weekly discussions here added much to the entertainment value.

I always loved the shoot outs on a busy highway and no one got arrested.

I stayed with it way to long, not sure why I did. It was a flaming hot piece of garbage.

Sutter does think he is some writing genius but is a hack as someone said.

Jesus Christ, Brother.

Honestly I don’t know how it got me. I disdain the whole trashy biker thing but somehow I really enjoyed it for a while. Even had some moments of staying up ridiculously late to finish the next episode.

It’s embarrassingly bad.

So you start with 3 of what many might put in their top 10 series of all time and are surprised that SoA didn’t match up?

That's not what he said. Not matching up to a top tier show is not the same as a fairly popular show actually sucking

I wouldn't be disappointed

It was always a guilty pleasure show for me. It was bad but kept me entertained.

I gave it two seasons and HOLE E shite this is the worst show that I’ve ever seen.

It goes from a good show to most off the rails shitfest I've ever seen.

The Ireland episode

Guilty pleasure gone wrong.

Kurt Sutter is a hack, but he seems to think that he's some kind of genius for writing this shite.

He earned a great reputation from The Shield. He started out by being one of several writers on the first season, and had climbed the ladder all the way up to show runner and executive producer by end of the series.

SOA wasn’t high quality TV, but it was a hit and lasted several seasons. It was a successful series for F/X.

The more freedom he has to come up with his own ideas and projects, the worse the results. Most of his work has been trash.

I was not comparing them. I would’ve considered SOA a shite show had I not seen any of them before. It’s just bad.

It's been awhile since I've seen it, but the only thing that I remember about that season is the scene where Gemma was rescuing them from the Irish military.

The only things missing from that scene were Fonzi, a shark, and a pair of skis.

I’m about 9 episodes in to season 1 and I’m struggling to make myself watch it.
