Glad to find someone on this board in the same line of thinking. Maybe I'm crazy, but I'm tired of this whole fad where everything has to be so dull, dreary, and depressing.

Y'all are crazy. Just got back and I loved it. It was exactly what a James Bond movie is supposed to be.

he's talking to her about her being a sex slave and implying anything more than just a lay. I honestly hate the whole modern cinema technique where someone you think will be a main character just gets killed for the "ohh" factor.

It's like we didn't even really care that she died because we only saw her for like 2 scenes, yet they were emotional scenes. It was so odd.

right on, doesn't react or even mention her again. Bond may have done that with evil girls in the past, but not someone who's begging to be saved.

what did you like? was it the way they decided not to show you how he survived getting shot twice and falling a couple hundred feet unconscious into water then falling another couple hundred down a water fall...again unconscious? Was it the way they didn't explain why Mother turned her back on Silver?(he hacked the Chinese, so she said "here", but Bond fricks over the "rules" all the time) Was it the way they had some old dude all of a sudden decide to start killing people without questions? How about a the way the a flare gun can burn underwater and be so hot as to melt ice fast enough that someone completely out of breath wouldn't drown?

what was the "AWWW YEAH, this is my kinda Bond Movie" moment that had you clapping at the end?

After this statement, I feel like you have never seen an actual movie in your entire life. Every movie has questions like these. Its a MOVIE.

It didn't melt the ice, it was just to see where the hole was.

Just got back from the late show. Maybe it will grow on me, but I was disappointed.

1)They added "camp" back and I don't like that. I especially dislike the ejection seat in the Astin Martin. I thought we were past that crap.

2) Bardiem's character is a blend if the bad guy from Law Abiding Citizen, Speed, Patriot Games and, yes, TDK. Not that it's a bad thing, but he didn't break new ground.

3) From the ejection seat part on, the movie really dropped off. It turned formulamatic after that.

4) M's death was poorly done. She was a character very much endeared to us and they could have done it better.

5) Bond's dry humor was weak.

I'm a rare QOS fan and I'll have to think it over before I say this movie is that much better.

However, the opening sequence was awesome and you can bet Sterling Archer is pissed as shite. And Bond did it without a tactilneck!

It was pretty average, for a Bond film. Entertaining, but not anywhere close to the best ever.

I love how people are saying "we got to see why bond is the way he is". LOL, they stopped for five seconds and looked into the distance and Mom says "how long ago did they die?" when he tells her they say "welp, lets carry on." If you are going to go for the entertainment factor save that cheap arse character development. I couldn't hold back my laughter.

You could literally rip this movie for days. I was somewhat entertained but damn this thing made no sense at times...to the point I thought it was supposed to be a parody.

I saw it this afternoon, and while I thought it was a pretty good movie, it just didn't feel like a Bond movie. You could see at the end of the movie they were setting up the pieces for the future. Will be interesting to see if they go in a more conventional direction with the next one.

I know this doesn't amount to much, but the detractors are in the minority. If last night's screening in front of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is any indication, Skyfall may be getting some Best Picture consideration.

This was a fantastic film. The detractors are just wrong on this one.

I will give this movie a try only because of the reviews. I must say that bond died for me the day Connery retired and I have not seen anyone even close to his equal since.
