I think there’s a pretty big generation divide between a simpsons lifer and a Family Guy/AD lifer, certainly between simpsons and bobs burgers and other more recent ones

Maybe the reason is because no one even the biggest fans in this heyday ever put FG on that type of a pedestal so the fall doesn’t feel very far when it did dip, and it’s mostly there for noise anyway and a light chuckle every once in a while. It was created as a turnkey joke machine and references show and still is that, even if the hit rate is much lower than the earlier days
