Yes.

Don't they even show the warden saying something about the upcoming weather..?

He had been there 19 years. He probably knew which direction was the front of the prison and which one was the back.

ETA: Not trying to sound condescending. Just saying, he had been all around inside and outside the prison. He probably knew the best way to go.

because we knows how the walls are facing in the prison and the pipe follows a wall. he knows his orientation inside the prison as well

I think Andy noticed the weather outside that it would rain earlier when he was talking to Red about the place in Mexico and the farm town in Maine.

He could have been able to pick the right way in the shite pipe because he could have went with the current because that will obviously lead out.

Red gets lucky too
andy told him where to dig to find the money, based on what things looked like 19 years before. that land could have been a parking lot by then

If it was, I like to think that Andy would have found away to get Red's attention. Andy did go back to the spot after escaping.

andy placed that money there when he got out, if the land had changed i'm sure andy would have gotten in touch with red somehow

In the book King goes in to more detail on how long it took Andy to dig through the wall. For about 3 years he had a room mate and couldn't work on it at all. But like the narrator says, when you have life in prison, all you have an abundance of is time. King also said he wore out 3 rock hammers in the process.
