Scrubs Podcast “Fake Doctors Real Friends”

Episode one was so good. Everything I could have hoped. This is probably still my favorite show of all time.
Recap
- Braff was still waiting tables when he got the call he was hired on.
- donald used his money from clueless to buy a house but was broke and had to call his parents for money for gas to go to auditions.
- scrubs decided to use songs that necessarily weren’t on the radio for emotional connections at the end of most episodes. They pretty much coined that for future tv’s shows that followed.
- Zach messes up his first audition and after weeks they heard they had yet to find a JD his agent told him to go to the audition in New York and try again. Thinking they wouldn’t even remember you
- the pilot was shot at a different hospital before the show got picked up
-Even the bar and apartment scenes were created within the same hospital with production building the sets in the many hundreds of rooms available to them. This gave Scrubs a layer of authenticity that could never have been recreated in a set. It wasn't until the black sheep of the series, season nine, that the show decided to use a traditional set. Just one of the many aspects that saw the final season fail to live up to that which had come before it.
Even thought I liked season 9
-The Theme Song Was Originally Supposed To Be Superman By Five For Fighting
- Joshua Radin was living on Zach couch before his song made it on scrubs (Brenden Fraser death scene)
You realize that majority of Hollywood are some broke adults barely surviving

Episode 2
- nbc threw this big party for everyone that was on TV on NBC and Turk ended up putting the CEO of NBC in a headlock and giving him a Nookie. He thought it was someone’s assistant.
- it was being regarded as one of the best pilots of the year. They knew they had something special and it just wasn’t a paycheck.
- Zach had 3 months off before starting to film scrubs season 1. That’s when he sat down and wrote “garden state”
- Zach asked for one thing off the set of scrubs and it was rowdy. The studio told him no during his film wish you were here he had rowdy in the background and the studio literally sent a bodyguard to bring and watch over rowdy. Jesus Christ
- prop guy got fired and was angry so he hid rowdy in the ceiling hoping no one would find him
- Zach wing man for donald and hooked him up with Jessica Simpson agent and friend. Now they are married

I tried to watch this show but could never get into it. It tried too hard to be cute.

As with most comedies it tails off significantly as things go on and the characters become caricatures.
At the beginning JD and Turk are best friends with one being a little nerdy but wants to fit in by the end they are essentially a homosexual couple and JD doesn’t even pretend to like sports etc.
Even still the first half of the series is absolute gold.

Dr. Cox is and always will be the goat.

When did JD ever like sports. I thought it only got better. Season 9 really isn’t scrubs. It’s a version of another show. The series finale will go down as one of the best ever

There was one season 1 episode where Elliot tried to talk to Dr. Cox and JD told her to shut up because you don't talk to a doctor when he's on a hotstreak and compared it to not talking to a pitcher when he is throwing a no-hitter.
Then in like season 5 or 6, JD doesn't know who Barry Bonds is and thinks Arnold Palmer is a "drink mogul"
Me typing all that out just opened my eyes in how obsessed I was with that show.

One of my favorite bloopers from the series is from Season 8 where Scott Foley as Sean is back and in the blooper, JD had a line that was ridiculous and Braff couldn't finish it and he laughed and told Foley "You haven't been here in a while, I'm a lot gayer now"

Perhaps, but the best comedies are those that can be insanely funny but also know how to drop some serious, emotional, and relatable stuff on you and Scrubs excelled in that arena.

They will get him to guest star on the podcast along with snoop dog resident and any other notable person involved in this show

Throughout the early seasons hes playing pick up basketball and his lack of sports knowledge and traditional masculine stuff is a source of shame etc.
Theres an episode in season 1 or season 2 about the differences between surgeons and internal medicine and basically how he felt he was too cool to be with the internal medicine nerds but felt like a huge nerd when he first hangs out with the surgeons. He then "fits in" by ragging on Turk but by the end realizes it was dumb etc. I get there is growth of a character but by the end he was way too over the top

Oh man, I love this show. Last show that I owned box sets of before switching over to digital. Most people will say it began to decline after season 3, but I enjoyed seasons 4 and 5 immensely. Shame the writers strike kind of hurt season 7, it had a similar vibe to the praised season 8 and could have been great had it found it's stride.

They had the foresight to slap a subtitle on it. It's not Scrubs, just a spinoff.

I did not.
I will update episodes 3 and 4 on the podcast soon. This is a stupid question but are they making money off of this podcast? Is this why they are doing it?
I don't know how podcasts work.
