Sally Wheeler hadn't been been such a two timing whore?
What if David had been honest with Charlie about seeing Sally from the get go? He had plenty of chances to say something.
Not saying Charlie Dillon wasn't an antisemitic piece of shite, I'm just saying that nobody is innocent here.

I don't think she was leading him on. Like she said in the movie, they were always together because their family always were together. I think she saw Charlie as more of a brother whereas Charlie wanted more.
To answer your question, damn straight Charlie would have turned on David. He was strictly for himself. He could never live up to Grayson so will do whatever it takes to get ahead.

By the way, School Ties may be the most underrated movie ever. I know most consider it a "good" movie, but it is excellent IMO. And often overlooked when talking about GOAT 90s movies.

Charlie had an entitled attitude. He seemed entitled to Sally because of his and her society standings.
I still think he would be envious and not happy and he would have pretended to be fine with it, but he never would be. He wouldn't handle Sally not choosing him.
