That wasn't my experience (falling off a cliff). I've watched it twice. It's low key but believable crime/court procedural.
I liked it a lot. I like Jon Turturro a lot, and he's great in it. All the acting is terrific.

The expectations that premier episode set are why people view it as a failure. The remaining episodes just couldn't replicate that incredible start.
