Is this canon or EU? Expanded has tons of great and interesting characters.
top 20 in no particular order except the first few:
Luke Skywalker
Darth Vader
Anakin Skywalker (especially through the Clone Wars series)
Emperor Palpatine (Clone Wars and Rebels expanded him greatly to show his depth)
Han Solo
Yoda
Obi Wan
Chewy
Ezra
Kanan
Maul (badass on intro and even more so after)
Boba Fett
Cad Bane
Thrawn
Baylon Skoll was great
Ashoka
Mortis Gods
Leia
Padme
Quinlon vos
Expanded Universe added just a few here:
Starkiller is badass
Cade Skywalker is a great character as well as Darth Krayt.
Revan and Malak through the Old Republic game
Kyle Katarn
Traya, Nihilus and Sion through games
Mara Jade could have been great
Jacen and Jaina Solo
Abaloth but it looks like she might be canon in a year

Darth Vader – The tragic titan of the saga. No one does redemption arcs like Anakin Skywalker.
Luke Skywalker – From farm boy to Jedi legend, he redefined hero’s journeys.
Princess Leia – Brains, blasters, and rebellion. Royalty with resistance running through her veins.
Obi-Wan Kenobi – The Jedi whose calm mask hides oceans of pain and principle.
Yoda – Tiny in stature, towering in wisdom. A walking (hopping?) koan.
Han Solo – The scoundrel with a heart of Beskar-plated gold.
Ahsoka Tano – Her evolution from apprentice to legend gives the Clone Wars era its soul.
The Mandalorian (Din Djarin) – Lone gunslinger with unexpected warmth. And let’s be honest… Grogu helps.
Emperor Palpatine – The cackling architect of galactic doom. Schemes so good, even Machiavelli would flinch.
Kylo Ren / Ben Solo – Torn between light and dark, fueled by legacy and loss.
Lando Calrissian – Swagger and style with a sharp mind behind the charm.
Qui-Gon Jinn – The maverick Jedi who trusted the Force more than the Council.
R2-D2 – Loyal, brave, and sassier than half the humanoid cast.
Rey – A scavenger who earned her power, identity, and place in the galaxy.
Count Dooku – Aristocratic menace. Classy saber duelist. Criminally underrated.
Darth Maul – Pure fury with a double-bladed purpose. Survived being cut in half out of sheer spite.
Chewbacca – Strength, loyalty, and guttural wisdom. The best co-pilot in the galaxy.
Grand Admiral Thrawn – Strategy as art. The kind of villain you’d debate over drinks.
Poe Dameron – Hotshot pilot with shades of Han, but a flair all his own.
Mace Windu – The most imposing presence with the baddest lightsaber color in the Order.

20 is too many. You’re just asking for people to not bother reading. I’ll go 10.
1. Luke Skywalker- My favorite fictional character of all time. Star Wars is his story, not Anakin’s. Regardless of what George Lucas says. The “chosen one” bullshite from the prequels is stupid.
2. Han Solo- The original space cowboy. Science fiction was pretty British and gentlemanly before him. He is the American entry into the genre.
3. Darth Vader- There is no more iconic villain in cinema history. Find a person on planet earth who doesn’t know who he is.
4. Boba Fett- Badass, silent bounty hunter. I admit he gets my ranking for what he was before the prequels.
5. Palpatine- In every form, but especially in Robot Chicken.
6. Thrawn- Maybe it wasn’t specifically his character, but his story in the early 90s is responsible for bringing Star Wars back into the popular culture after a lull.
7. Andor- The modern, reluctant anti-hero.
8. The Mandalorian- 2 seasons of him anyway. Also, he should have just been Boba Fett.
9. Luthen Rael- By far, the best monologue deliverer in all of Star Wars. Skaarsgard should win an Emmy.
10. Stormtroopers- There has never been, and never will be, cooler looking faceless bad guys than stormtroopers.
Honestly, you can flip the order of 4-10 around any which way and I’d agree.
