Rogue One’s problem are the characters and that the first two acts are pointless. Episodes I and II have all those problems and more.

Your problem with Rogue One is that you judge it as a character story when it's actually a period piece.
The first two acts of RO are good. It's the only time we see life under the Empire.

I judge almost everything as a character story, so fair criticism to my line of thought. I say the same of people who criticize Dunkirk for not seeing that it’s a period piece trying to make you feel like you’re there over anything else.
