How much money could this movie bring in if they rereleased it today? I would love to see this on a theatre screen with full sound for effects.

How come Raiders didn't have the toy franchise like Star Wars? Or not even close to Star Wars or not even close to an average movie.

(yes, I'm watching the Toys that made us.)

I don't get it, Raiders was huge...true there wasn't a lot of characters...but shite, you had tanks, a bunch of Nazis, hot chicks...Pyramids.

Raiders was made for 18,000,000 dollars. That’s incredible.

My personal #1 movie, so a re-release would get at least $20 out of my wife and I.

A great one. That sequence with the ark near the end was so fricking awesome.

There's a triggered video on YT by Anita Sarkeesian's team raging about the predatory nature of Indiana Jones (& other Harrison Ford characters) against the women in his movies. I'm not kidding.

They specifically highlight Temple of Doom when Indy uses his whip to lasso in the woman for a kiss, after she's says she is leaving. They conveniently forget to address the fictional character was playing hard-to-get and readily jumped into the kiss post-lasso.

It's actually running at the Movie Tavern next month as part of their Classic Movies series or whatever they call it. I'm going to go see it.

Yeah cultural appropriation when Indy uses the Arab garb to hide.

Depends on who you're casting as Indy. I don't know who you could cast currently that had the same relevance and popularity, but also obscurity that Harrison Ford had at the time. He was basically just known as Han Solo or that guy in 10 minutes of Apocalypse Now.

Maybe Chris Pine would've worked....?

I've got nothing. With Spielberg directing it would've done well regardless of the star actor, but not as well as it did originally because Harrison Ford is a god.

top 5 all time for me

Sidenote: got back from the pool yesterday and was so tired i feel in my bed and turned it on Paramount Network and Crystal Skull was on. I had already threw the remote on the other side of the bed and was too tired to get it.

Watched 30 minutes before i took a nap. It was a perfect movie to get me to nap

I saw it in the theaters in the original showing..I was a teenager and it was amazing. Speilberg and Lucas were at the top of their games and I left the theater exhausted from all of the suspenseful moments

So...we're just not gonna talk about the fact Indy was a child molester (Marion Ravenwood)?

Marion:"It was wrong and you knew it!!!"

Indy: "You knew what you were doing."

Marion: "I was a child!! I was in love!!"

Was going to say this. Within the last 2-3 months this was in theaters. Won’t be that long and it’ll be back again.

ETA. It’s actually playing at movie tavern June 17.

No shite. I loved that song.

Sadly, we only had two teachers that could be described as hot/good looking at my high school.

Good thing they didn’t want John Candy.
