I thought Jedi were like the priests/monks of the SW universe...IE The light side Jedi do not wed or have kids....Any confirmation that it is ok for Jedi to wed/make babies?
I think this is a prequel hurt theory, this idea never shows up in the original three, Yoda considers Leia as a Jedi and they seem to have no problems with the love relationship between Leia and Han. But in the SW universe my best guess is that love has been a path to the dark side for some so they just want to avoid it. Maybe he just reproduces just ot reproduce, but it's not a stretch to think he feel in love with someone.

Luke made a virtually impossible shot with no guidance system to destroy the Death Star like a week after being told about the force. He also effortlessly went from piloting land craft on Tatoonie to being the best X Wing pilot in the Rebellion.
Let's not act like he was helpless until he was trained.

Somewhere in the thousand year history of the modern Galactic Republic, the Jedi figured out that attachment too often leads to greed. For this reason, they eventually thought it best just to outlaw relationships entirely.
That doesn't mean Jedi "can't" love or that Luke's new generation of Jedi can't be involved in relationships.

There is a theory that she is both Kenobi's granddaughter and Luke's daughter.Which is like hitting the Force genetic lottery.
I still think she's had some training though.

I have to go back and watch it, but Ghost Ben and Yoda considered Leia as a back up if Luke turned to the Dark Side.
So she isn't a jedi but she is still strong with the force. Yoda wouldn't want her to turn to the Dark side, so if this no dating thing is so important than it would be the same for Leia.

she is clearly Luke's daughter, I know the movie didn't explicitly say it but the hints they drop make it clear she is Luke's.
But here dealings with the interior with starship cruisers probably gave her some good natural skills. A 4 year old can't get much training in the force. That is when her "family" left her. Personally, I think it is a situation similar to what Luke went through, he has a daughter and feels a need to protect her and keep her secret, so she is sent to an insignificant planet. The only probably with this theory is Luke gives her no protection, at least no obvious protection.

I find your lack of faith disturbing.
The use of the force makes you a much better at what you do, but being in control of emotions is key to using the force. Especially when trying to stay on the light side. Training is more controlling emotion and removing distractions. Rather than learning how to use the force.

I'm looking for some more information on kylo's inferior Saber. Where did it come from? Why does he have it? Was it in purpose? What makes it inferior?

Kylo's saber is based on an ancient and one of the first lightsaber designs. The beam requires exhaust ports (hence the handle) and the beam is erratic and not clean. I don't think it can reflect lasers back in the direction they came and a violent explosion happens instead. This pisses Kylo the hell off, and when he sees Finn having the saber of his grandfather and uncle, he finds it pretty damn insulting. I can see Kylo utterly obsessing over getting the lightsaber in the next one and will succeed.

my point was he was a better pilot because of the force. Some people on here are underestimating the power of the force, why I said, I find your lack of faith disturbing.

I should not have responded to you. I did not mean that to be counter to what you posted-just adding to the discussion of Luke's piloting skills.

A popular theory is just that she's had some training when she was very young and had her mind wiped. Add that to the probability that she's Luke's daughter, it's not a stretch for her to do the things she did.
I was thinking Rey and Ren are brother and sister. The reason I say that is similar to Luke and Leia. But I could see her being Luke's daughter as well.
