Question about Emily Thorne from TV show "Revenge"

Warning: Spoilers below.
Do Emily and Amanda actually swap names after juvi? Or did Emily just give Amanda her old name and she randomly started calling herself Emily Thorne (which had no prior history)? If they swapped names, how can Emily justify her new found wealth if somebody did a background check on her childhood using the name Emily Thorne?
Also when Emily got out of juvi, she gets $500M from Nolan Ross, the money which I believe she uses to set up new life next to the Graysons (the home, her spending on charities etc). But how does she manage to hide her real childhood from Victoria and her head of security Frank Stevens? What is her cover story for her being such a wealthy woman at such a young age? Does she have Nolan Ross create a fake background for her?

Such a good show, I took a break from it after Episode 1 of this season but have them all on DVR.
Will have a Revenge all day marathon soon to catch up.
But yeah pretty sure I remember that Nolan changed her credentials and they were hidden from any easy access and any time someone would find something on her they'd steal it back and change it around or destroy it.
