It's only a few minutes in, but I hope this episode picks up. It's really dull so far.

They really need to get back to more of Shawn solving normal cases instead of these crazy story lines that involve personal matters so much. They're necessary every now and then, but just get back to the bread and butter

I'll be honest, I didn't pay attention to the preview

I love Jeffrey Tambor though

Going to be one where the ending is selected by viewers.

I thought it was good. Kinda offbeat, sure but in away that appealed to me. (unlike last week) . The actors who play Shawns dad and Jules stepdad carried the episode easily IMO. (though I still sometimes think LA Law when I see Shawn's dad)

Only thing that comes to mind when I see shawn's dad is major league. Need to have an episode where he is introduced as dorne.

Was about to say this as well. He'll always be Roger Dorn to me.

Psych thread on the second page, with less than a full page of in-game responses.

I was only able to watch the first half last night, and it was decent (but not too great)...hoping it picks up in the second half. And I agree that "regular" episodes should dominate the seasons with "special"-type episodes here and there. But lately it's been the complete opposite...it feels like they feel like every episode has to be gimmicky, and it's hurting the show IMO.

What was up with the coke zero placement at the end that was shameful. And you're right about the gimmicks, I'm not a fan at all about picking the ending bit. That's shark jumping shite.

Jeffrey Tambor was $ last episode. Also Gus and his "Family Problems" were good too

I agree on Psych feeling the need to "do it big" every episode. Some of the best episodes of the entire series were the simple silly ones like Mexican Soap Opera Episode.

I agree about them getting gimmicky. That's what I was afraid of last year when they announced all of the guest stars. I was way off on that one, though. I don't mind the product placement as long as it's isolated. People talk in brand names in real life so that doesn't bother me.

I really liked when they referred to Tambor as 'the patsy' for the Mexican cop. Good AD reference there.

Overall good episode too.
