Trailer

Just saw that this is on Netflix and gave it a watch after somewhat following its production from short film to feature.

It's small budget Sci-Fi that relies on character and world building through character development. Makes it seem much much bigger imo.

There is nothing complex or fancy about the story, just the execution/setting. It's similar to True Grit or other westerns.

Def recommend if you're a fan of low budget sci-fi

I was trying to remember the name of this movie because I wanted to watch it after seeing a trailer and for the life of me couldn't remember it. Now I definitely need to check it out.

I saw this a while back and I liked that, unlike a lot of science fiction, it followed characters that had little to no influence.

For example, I'd like to see a Star Wars movie about the daily life of a janitor on the Death Star. (This story would not have a happy ending, I suppose.)

Oh I saw this a while back. Kind of a dark story but I like it because you can imagine when you're out in the middle of nowhere sometimes you have to make unsavory, practical choices that you wouldn't make in less dire circumstances.

The trailer kind of gives away too much though.

Yes, the trailer gives away too much, but I only watched maybe a minute.

Watched this last evening and really stayed engrossed. The whole oddity of the father/daughter relationship was kind of weird, but I watched just to see if Pedro Pascal's acting was less wooden than his role in The Mandelorian or Narcos.

Overall, not too bad and I really enjoyed it, but just at the top surface, because it really wasn't too deep. Would recommend, though.

I bet they brought in independent contractors on that thing.
