Watched it. One of the worst movies I’ve ever seen in my opinion

It's not a good movie overall.

It has 3 or 4 interesting/strange scenes in it and that's about it.

I watched this shortly after it was posted here. Watched the whole thing taking a few breaks as it went. You have to realize that just about everything you’re witnessing is a metaphor and the horror elements are meant to give you similar feelings of being in or a witness to a toxic relationship. And even if you’ve never experienced one before it will take you there. I can’t say whether it was a good film or bad. It was just something I experienced. And I think the director’s goal was to make you uncomfortable and he succeeded in that. Those feelings will either be new or all too familiar depending on how the relationships in your life after gone.

This was the best explainer I found.

The thing is, the movie is composed in a way that is just naturally infuriating. There is no point to it. It’s being weird for weirdness sake. But the king shots make it go from weird to just flat out awkward.

There is not a bit about this movie that’s normal. It’s fully unhinged non-sensible bullshite that’s floating around in the miasma

It’s like watching a weird performance art play where people do weird stuff to “represent” the human condition

One of my favorite movies.

I've always wondered whether the Silent Hill video games might have been inspired in part by this film, with the characters and "monsters" being symbolic of psychological trauma.

Also, I wish they hadn't cut out the part in the subway scene where eyes were supposed to open up in the palms of Adjani's hands.

For those who didn't want to pay for Shudder, this is now available on Kanopy (which means it's free)
