I thought it was a really good show but it was a bit too slow for me and to be honest, all the interest I had in the first episode or two vanished by the finale.

Agreed, but there's a lot of set up in the middle episodes that won't pay off until Season 2, so if this route is taken, I would still recommend a full season 1 watch right before S2 comes out.

I think Diabate is going to try and kill Carol, so she won’t ruin his new lifestyle. Earlier Carol was told by the hive, we can’t protect you from each other. I think that was said for a reason.
They told him they can’t kill , so they couldn’t make him his food he wanted. He said what if I kill it, would that be ok for you to then cook. They said sure.
I’m reaching on that last part, but could mean if he kills anything living besides the hive, they wouldn’t hold that against him.

Finally got around to watching this and did the whole season in two nights. I just read this whole thread because I must have no life 
and I'm glad I've binged it as waiting a week would maybe have me feeling like some of you who seem to not like the show anymore. Personally, I like the show and while I agree it was a slow burn, I'm also used to VG shows. Now waiting 2 years for season 2 is ridiculous and I don't think this show is that great that I would want to watch S1 again just to remind myself what the frick happened before S2.
The messages on the screens were hilarious. Especially the first time you see it. I had no clue that was Howard's voice on the recording, how the hell do you people recognize these things? Indian chick is beyond annoying but maybe they're setting her up for something bigger later. Mauritius dude's life is most guys fantasy, but I have to say it was a little annoying how easily all these people were accepting of this shite within days. My wife hated Carol and thought she was a bitch, which I agreed, but it's like people forgot her wife died right in front of her and the world is ending in her mind. However, it's a bit frustrating for how dumb she is when she's supposed to be smart at the same time. I mean how are you not asking more relevant questions?
I did laugh my arse off at the Lambo for every day of the week as my wife knows I would pretty much be the same except that I would have a different Supercar each day. I love the idea of going to a grocery store and nobody being around but it being fully stocked! Shooting fireworks in the streets, golf balls into windows, etc. I basically thought this was Utopia but of course there's that pesky Hive mind waiting to convert me.
Paraguay guy is sort of on that Carol annoys you track when she first was dealing with it as that's where he's at right now being late to the party. He's committed though and we'll all end up liking him or really hating him.
