Earth or space the nuclear bomb does not need oxygen. It's basically a atomic fission chain reaction where there is no oxidation.
They detonated one in Stargate as well.

Correct, we are going forward now I believe

In Big there's no way that machine could have been running since it was unplugged.

Pulp Fiction
When Jules and Vincent go to retrieve the briefcase from Brett and his friends.
Vincent sits the briefcase on the counter and opens it to check the contents. Then the shooting starts and they walk out after their "divine intervention" discussion. No one goes and gets the briefcase, they just seem to have it later.

One that really bugged me was in Gone Baby Gone when the police didn't find the girl's body in the quarry and nobody thought that was odd. Um, bullcrap. It is not difficult at all to find the body of a child in a quarry, a quarry is just not that big a body of water, is usually clear water, and there are no currents to move the body elsewhere. If the police don't find the body they are going to know that something is fishy. At that point I knew that the movie was screwing with the audience.

I had to avoid reading your post until tonight because I finally saw the new Star Trek. I couldn't help but wonder why they waited til the end of the movie to shoot the damn drill. Maybe it was explained, but I will admit that I wasn't paying 100% attention while watching.

well they did shoot the drill, but I mean destroy the drill w/ the weapons on the ships.

I think thats wrong. I believe nuclear weapons need some sort of conventional explosive to trigger the fission (the case of a normal nuclear bomb) or the fusion (in the case of a thermonuclear bomb). The explosives cause pressure and heat to start the reaction.

Actually, if you sped up through space (ie moved near the speed of light), time would pass more slowly for you than everyone around you. Once you slowed back down, you would have essentially just moved forward in time.

To be technical its a sphere covered with plastique wedges timed to go off as near simultaneously as possible. It is also enclosed in an air tight unit that contains its own oxygen. Furthermore plastic explosive is compression ignition and the result of a chemical reaction, ergo it does not need oxygen to detonate.

TNT is used to trigger the fission reaction but the explosives are kept inside the shell so it should work anywhere in space imo.
The thermonuclear bomb is triggered by an atomic bomb. It should work if the atomic bomb works. All stars are after all big examples of thermonuclear 'bombs' in action and they were set off in the lack of oxygen environment.

Uwe Boll is a massive plot hole.

weak
This one got me to thinking, and while not realy a plot hole, it's not a weak point either. If you have a super religious warden why take the chance on him removing the poster because of it's content.
But more than that, one thing that always struck me as stupid on Andy's part was the scene on the roof when he overhears the a-hole guard's (played by Clancy Brown) conversation about inheritance or taxes. Andy know's the guard is fond of violence towards inmates so he decides to approach him with the "Do you trust your wife?" question instead of something along the lines of "Hey, I was an accountant, and I know of a way to help you save your money." Why risk getting thrown off the roof of the prison?

Makes for a better movie.
Even worse than that, he follows it up with "Do you think she'd try to go behind your back and hamstring you?"

I don't know that I would call it a plot hole. But watching Tin Cup last night, and it always bothered me that he could not get a 3 wood to stop on the green. Seriously, if you can't get a 3 wood to stop then good luck gettng a short iron, where you get much more spin, to stop up there.

You are somewhat right. Conventional explosives are used in fission bombs, and in thermonuclear bombs (conventional triggers the fission reaction, which in term generates the conditions needed for the second thermonuclear stage).
But pretty much ALL explosives carry their own oxidizer in them. They are explosive because they undergo a rapid chemical reaction. If they had to wait for oxygen in the air to fuel it by diffusion it would never explode.

I think the digging starts after the Warden gives his approval of the poster (well, maybe not approval, but acceptance)
