What really got me more than anything else was the amount of destruction the ship going to warp through the fleet caused

No reason they shouldn't make battering ram ships now. While it was a cool thing to see in the movie (one of the few) it leads to thoughts like these.

1. That was a big asteroid with considerable gravitational pull
2. There's nothing that says the Tie fighters weren't firing those bombs
3. There was no drawn out scene of a Tie pilot scrambling to drop the bombs.
4. Empire was so awesome people don't nitpick it.

I whispered that to my cousin during the scene, how the hell was she breathing? They should’ve at least shown like a barely visible shield for oxygen purposes

That was the part of the scene I had least problem with.

Shields that keep air in but allow things to pass through has made appearances in literally every single SW movie except maybe AotC. It’s not something they just made up.

The fact not ONE person has said this and people went along to agree with it makes me feel that the bads of this movie (of which there are plenty) are being overstated and amplified.

Bay doors and other openings specifically built for that purpose. The ships windows were blast open, internal doors wouldn't be outfitted with the technology. Making it back to the bridge by holding her breath, maybe, but when they open the internal door, everyone in the area would be sucked out...unless I guess she "force holds" the air in the doorway.

It's the difference in suspending disbelief between:
Punching through concrete

and running over people's faces

That has nothing to do with people bitching about someone being next to “bomb bay doors open to space.”

I thought the same thing. Space bombs acting like real artillery.

You're right. That was the least of this awful movie's problems. I've been a fan of SW for forty years and just watched every hope I've ever had for it evaporate.
