It's pretty simple, if you enjoyed the first one you will like the second one.

Couldn't disagree more. I really liked the first one, and thought the second one was weaksauce.

I'd bet that's just because you thought the first one was hip and had a novelty factor that the second one didn't. The movies are damn near the exact same, not necessarily in plot, but in dialogue and scares. Chances are, you didn't like the sequel before you even saw it. You didn't like the idea of Paranormal Activity 2, admit it.

I really liked both movies. The only flaw I found with the second one was the pacing was incredibly slow. The way they tied the two movies together really made me like it better than the first.

Well I'm glad you have me all figured out, sport. But you're wrong on just about all accounts. I didn't think the first one was "hip" or "novel" at all as much as it was just a cool take on the paranormal genre. And it was interesting. I didn't go into the second one expecting to dislike it...I went into it thinking it'd be similar to the first one, but not as good (which are fair expectations for sequels I'd imagine). But it wasn't as interesting or believable as the first one to me. And it lacked a lot of the creepiness that the first one had (and a lot of the main creepy factors were, again, shown in the trailers). It just was weak. Plain and simple. I also hated how they tied it into the first one and got Katie involved...I didn't like that angle, and was expecting more of a fresh take on it.

I'll go ahead and personally apologize to you for disliking it though, as clearly it bothers your very core that I did.

One of the interesting things I noticed about the cover was although the baby is in the bed, his reflection does not appear in the mirror....i checked the movie to see if this, in fact, takes place and it does. the reverse is also true at one point. He's in the mirror but not in the bed.

Any ideas to the significance of this or is it just the director having some fun?
I would think there must be a reason, because if its noticed the audience wants an explanation. Also, a message is written into the carpet in one of the scenes and it says "What is happening to Hunter?"
again, interesting, but does it have more significance than I realize?

I actually liked this twist. i didn't see it coming and it was about as bad a dirty deed as anybody could pull.

Looking at some of the ways 2 tied into 1, it appears as though they were thinking sequel the entire time?

I don't know why, but something about the 4th Kind just disturbed me a little and was a bit unsettling. That movie messed me up for a couple weeks, I guess its bc I believe in all that stuff.

I've seen most of the 4th Kind and while it's scary I just find it less scary than PA for the same reason an earlier poster finds 4th Kind scarier. 4th Kind to me is more of alien visitation movie and I find ghostly hauntings/evil spirits (PA 1/PA 2) much more believable than alien abduction/violation (4th Kind). I love movies ideas like PA because even though the specific story likely didn't happen I do think it has and can happen. It's another reason I found the Discovery Channel series "A Haunting" so fascinating.
