There is a report from the New York Post among other outlets that Ellison may sell off the rights to CNN (and CBS?) to a group of investors including Elon Musk.

Take it FWIW but that would seem like a FU to Bonta and Gavin as much as a business decision by Musk or Ellison.

I'm not sure what economic value versus political value the television rights have really. At first glance the cable and network viewership numbers seem far less culturally relevant than giants like YouTube and Tik Tok in American culture.

The bigger value for Paramount and Netflix is really the intellectual property rights as far as I can tell.
