Solid flick that I've seen before. Didn't realize until today that Kristin Stewart (Twilight) played the daughter. Side note, Jodi Foster was on fire.

I also always LOL whenever I remember that Dwight Yoakam is a part of a movie that I always seem to notice after the fact (see Sling Blade). That dude is a master of disguise without his hat and torn blue jeans!

Yeah I rewatched it again a few weeks ago. Just based on the premise it really has no right to be as good as it is. Testament to Fincher, and actors.

Dwight Yoakam is a treasure. Stayed true to his country music roots and is a solid, if not great, actor.

He said he knew he did a good job on Slingblade when his mom cheered his character’s death.

The weird thing about this movie is, you would swear after watching it that Kristen Stewart would grow up to be a really good actress. She displayed more acting ability in Panic Room than any movie she has made since Twilight.

I loved his little part in Logan Lucky. When he was going over the demands of the inmates about the Game of Thrones books.

I was thinking the other day that I hadn't seen a good comedy in forever, then remembered Logan Lucky. Has to be the best genuinely funny movie of the last 5 or so years.

It is, but it's a feat of his directing that it's even rewatchable.

Hadn't seen this movie in ages so just gave it a watch, nice little flik. The only thing that bothered me was forest whitaker getting arrested at the end. Yes, i know he's a "bad guy". He's a robber, broke into a home, stole property that wasn't his, and he killed a guy. However, he didn't know people were home and thought it was empty, didn't want guns or weapons present and was pissed when raul had a gun, didn't want anyone hurt, helped the girl with her shot, and ultimately killed the one real shitehead of the group. His ending could ahve been ambigious with him just running away into the dark and that being the last we see of him. But we see him caught before even leaving the yard. I wasn't really PULLING for the bad guy or anything, but it was made crystal clear to the viewer from the get go that he at least had SOME morals and sense of decency.

I get what you're saying, but we ultimately don't know if he was formally charged with anything other than burglary or maybe got a greatly reduced sentence for mitigating circumstances.

He was definitely getting jail time, and obviously lost all the money.

Taht's all I'm saying, him escaping into the night would be fine because he may have gotten away to a tropical island, he may have just gone on about his daily life as normal, or he may have gotten apprehended 2 blocks down the road. It's open ended for possibilities. In the actual movie we know he's caught, and he is assuredly getting in legal trouble.

Ultimatley it's not a big deal, I mean he did do wrong and he should be punished, I just felt like the entire movie they wanted the viewer to feel for him and kind of be on his side a little, then he still gets nabbed anyway.

I'm surprised they didn't make it a franchise like Die Hard.

They had Panic Room and then Panic Room in the sky (Flight plan) could've had Panic room on a train, panic room on a love boat...Panic room Island?
