YouTube Trailer

West Point, 1830. A world-weary detective is hired to discreetly investigate the gruesome murder of a cadet. Stymied by the cadets’ code of silence, he enlists one of their own to help unravel the case — a young man the world would come to know as Edgar Allan Poe.

I saw a brief ad for this a couple of times, and thought Christian Bale being in it might mean it’s worth a watch. Had no idea it was about Edgar Allen Poe

And Poe is played by Dudley Dursley.

He's come a long way.

Use to like her because she was a hot nerd icon, now because she's an amazing actress.

conflicted: big Poe fan but not so much Bale. I'll probably give it a shot, which is more than I can say for Cusack playing Poe.

It's getting a short theatrical run in the US and UK on December 23, before landing on Netflix worldwide on January 6, 2023.

Yeah, I hear you man, I don’t care much for actors that can act really well in everything they’re in either

Very solid flick. Along the same lines as The Prestige. I thought Melling did a great job as Poe.

Just finished watching. Good movie. I didnt even recognize Gillan until I saw the credits - LOL.

Made me go back and read the tale tell heart and the raven. Hadnt read either since I was a teenager. Reading those now that I am alot older made me realize how good of a writer Poe was

Enjoyed this one. Did not expect that conclusion. Appreciate when a good twist is broken out.
