Always do, not “almost never “.
And if I happen to see what everyone else is seeing , that’s pretty telling. It shows that something is universally understood by the fans who know what they’re talking about.

The outrage ITT over this choice is ridiculous. Shalla-Bal has been given the cosmic power from Galactus before and she’s been the Silver Sufer multiple times. This isn’t like Marvel randomly making Taskmaster a female
Shalla-Bal has been intertwined with Norrin Radd since the Silver Surfer character was created, there’s zero chance he’s not going to be involved at some point soon.

quote:
"Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Marvel’s First Family — Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Quinn) and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Moss-Bachrach) as they face their most daunting challenge yet. Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal."
This plot description is exciting for a few reasons. “Their most daunting challenge yet” implies again that this F4 will already be established superhero celebrities when this picks up, which I like a lot. There’s been some rumors online that there’s going to be a montage type thing catching us up with the F4 showing them defeating some of their early, lower tier villains. There’s lots of rumors Paul Walter Hauser is playing Mole Man, who was the very first F4 villain.
I like that they are really emphasizing what a threat Galactus is right off the bat. If they finally get Galactus right on the big screen, he will be horrifying. Worse than anything we’ve seen in the MCU to date. Ineson might knock this out of the park.
“It suddenly gets very personal” makes me believe Doom is absolutely going to be in this, maybe even more than just a post credit scene. You cannot tell the story of Doom without immediately establishing his rivalry with Reed Richards. Galactus, Silver Surfer, and Doctor Doom rolling up in the MCU in one swing should be fricking awesome.
This is by far my most anticipated comic movie of 2025 and probably the most excited I’ve been for a Marvel movie since No Way Home

But let me ask you. Who is Silver Surfer?
When you think Superman, are you thinking Jonathan Kent?
When you think Batman, you thinking Tim Fox?
When you think Wolverine, are you thinking Laura Kinney?
I want to add that I think this is a misdirect. From what I have heard, Norrin Radd will be the Surfer by the end of the FF movie. Whether she dies, and he accepts the mantle, or she is some multiverse imposter. . .everything I have heard is that Norrin Radd is still the Silver Surfer.
If I am wrong, and this is another DEI swap, then this will be DOA. Surfer just means too much to too many.

I don't care that she's not playing norrin radd. I want the norrin radd surfer. I don't want some alternate surfer who appeared in a handful of issues. These movies take years to make. The larger MCU stories take a decade plus to tell on film and streaming. I want the marvel greatest hits from their decades of great stories. I don't want the young avengers. I don't care about iron heart.
This is why I've quit watching and caring about it. Why are they wasting time with these one off characters when the future of this universe isn't guaranteed. Tell your best stories.

This is why I don't understand some posters freak out. They have no clue where the story/character arc is going yet they are already hitting the panic button.
Is there some sort of bonus points system where you get more points if you call something before you see the movie and it comes true? Do you win money for it? I'll just wait and watch the movie and see if its good or not.

Where is anyone freaking out? Fans are just stating that it's so M SHE U to skip over the original to FF to the strong wahman character, like every other M SHE U project in the past 5 years.
It's not that hard to understand. Stop pretending it is.

Even after it took me like 5 seconds to find proof that it is a thing and cites evidence?
Again, living in your own sad little world.

Your evidence is some douche on YouTube how very fitting.
Do you have one single thought of your own

It's not a matter of individual thought, but nice try.
It's objective fact not subjective opinion. The articles shown clearly show that the M SHE U is a thing, brought on by Disney Marvel, not dreamed up by the internet.
And the actress (translator) literally slipping up and SAYING M-She-U is all one needs to see.
This is the part where you admit you're wrong and apologize.

It has become the "go to" label for what is wrong with the MCU.
And rightfully so.
Do you disagree with the label? Or do you just object to it being used as a pejorative?
If you aren't seeing the rampant gender swaps (Black Panther, She-Hulk, Hawkeye, Ironheart, Surfer, etc) and feminizing of the MCU. . .I am not sure you are having this discussion in good faith.

This is false.
I've never heard that term used except online (literally just now by SEK). i've talked about MCU movies with my friends plenty of times. noone has ever uttered that phrase.
it's not a phrase normal people use.
if we were sitting around watching a football game and someone said M-She-U they would be looked at like a frickin nerd

Not a single person from the general audience would know what the frick MSheU meant because most people don’t get pissy over your stupid culture war
Also saying “gender swaps” are what’s the main problem with the MCU shows a total lack of knowledge of films or what’s been the problem lately. It isn’t women existing or gays

gender swaps
Not a single one was a gender swap. She Hulk has been around since the 80s, Chadwick Boseman’s death forced Marvel to change Black Panthers, Hawkeye is still Clint and is having Kate as his pupil, Ironheart is literally a woman in the comics and is not Tony nor ever was, this surfer is an alternate universe where his wife takes the mantle. Literally not a single one is a gender swap.

It is a phrase common among people who aren't enamored with the recent phases of the MCU. It was originally coined by neckbeard incels, but now it is a general term used frequently.
Sometimes it is couched in other language, ie "fans aren't enamored by the new heroes that have been introduced"
They are still saying the same thing, because almost all the new heroes introduced are female. Aside from Shang Chi and Moon Knight, has a new male hero been added? Not even sure if Moon Knight is in the MCU
