OPINION: Does Vince Gilligan produce a trilogy set in Albuquerque?

My opinion, yes. How long? Not sure.

My take:
I think Better Call Saul will go 2-3 more years with a time jump to post BB. It’ll set up the next chapter set years into the future with Nacho as the main character. With he and Lalo still alive in the BB timeframe I think we may get a preview this week on BCS. Good old fashion good(Nacho) vs evil(Lalo). Michael Mando Is a great actor and I can see him carrying the lead protagonist role.

That or Skylar and Marie in a Thelma and Louise knockoff....it’ll last 6 episodes.

frick no. There's no depth. Everyone loved saul in BB days and you could see from teh jump that you could easily write a whole 'nother series with hist backstory. Waht are you gonna do with nacho?

lalo is such an overblown thing. He was literally mentioned once in a one-off sentence in BB, and has literally been shown once for about a minute in BCS. And now you're talking about basing an entire show around him? Pull yourself together man

I didn't say that Vince should start creating the next show tonight. I’m well aware there’s no depth...yet. We still have a few years left and Nacho and Lalo are about to become the third main plotline or so it appears. We still have the possibility of Lalo becoming a villain on par with Gus who just wasn’t seen in BB. He may be a genius who laid low and bide his time while Gus was running things. Or he may just be happy being a cook who dabbles with the cartel life now and again. Who knows at this point?

Again I’m just throwing out opinions for discussion, not proclaiming hard fact nonsense like J+K=S.

The next chapter may involve Walt Jr. He travels around the country experiencing all the finest breakfast joints to get his mind off of his fathers turn to crime and death but ends up helping people along the way. Kind of a Highway to Heaven/Quantum Leap type deal.

Yeah, he's a Salamanca so I have no doubt that he's going to be vicious and less than stable but I don't see him as being on some whole new level or anything.

And assuming both are still alive in the post Breaking Bad era (and BCS has already retconned a few things so that's not a given) why would Nacho still be hanging around Albuquerque and how does Lalo become some potent feared force with no family or cartel backing?

And to answer the OP, I don't see a trilogy. Nobody really compelling enough to carry a show on their own. Maybe they can do a vacuum repair guy standalone show.

Maybe do something with Jesse? Maybe a combo Jesse and Saul continuation? BCS could go on several more seasons with that scenario. Add in Kim, Nacho, Lalo and see what happens with Skylar, Walt Jr etc...

At least there wouldn't be a whole lot of dialogue to dissect after each episode.

In BB, we know about Saul:

-he's incredibly charismatic. That alone is a starting point to work off of
-he has an extensive network of shady people, both extremely high level and bottom rung guys. That's a wide swath of associates to pull from
-We saw quite a bit of Saul on screen over the course of several years. We don't know how he got to where he his (how'd he become the lawyer he is?) or waht happens after he calls the vaccum guy (we still know very little about this world)

What do we know currently about Nacho?

-He's a salamanca in the meth business that is between the lower level dudes (he's not out on the street dealing) and the higher ups like hector

aaaand that's about it. Yeah he seems like a "good guy" at heart and not a ruthless killer, but there isn't near enough depth as I mentioned to base an entire series off of. Just because you like him doesn't mean he's worthy of an entire series about him.

BCS is struggling right now. I would be happy to see him work on that first.

Was Nacho in Breaking Bad? He could be dead by then.

In skimming your novel:

So you’re making judgements off of a character whose story hasn’t finished being told?

Just because you like him doesn't mean he's worthy of an entire series about him.

Where did I make either of these points?

I think Gilligan could make something from nothing on a lot of aspects from breaking bad or BCS but I think this world will be pretty close to tapped out after BCS wraps up.

I look forward to Gilligan doing some movies or doing another show.

Huh? He's a Salamanca. Eduardo "Lalo" Salamanca.

Vince and the writers, even before the first season of BCS aired, have always planned to make Lalo a MAJOR character in the BCS universe. LINK My guess is that Lalo will be the primary antagonist in multiple storylines by the time BCS crosses the bridge into BB.

A good 10 part miniseries.

Love breaking bad but I would like them to tell a new fresh story next.
