But seriously, how long can people keep getting murdered in their building, connected to them?
I read somewhere that they have a rough 5 season plan but no idea if that's true or internet BS.
I do have two endings I wouldn't mind seeing. One would be a final season where 1 or all 3 of the main characters are the murderer. That might be too hard to set up without the audience figuring it out quickly.
The other is to have Steve Martin's character be the last victim. He's said this is the last acting job he's planning to do. Cameos and guest appearances don't appeal to him and he's not willing to travel and go on set anymore for any length of time. That leaves open something falling into his lap that works for him but I'm not expecting anything. Killing off his character would be a good symbolic theme for Steve Martin but it would probably be too dark and hard to keep the fun comedic vibe. You would also have to rely on flashbacks (like with Rudd) to keep him in the story which would limit the best character in the show.
Whatever they do for however long they do it is fine by me, though. It's been a very pleasant surprise and one of my favorite shows to come out lately. I like Martin Short when he's somewhat restrained like this show and Steve Martin is one of the GOAT entertainers. The two of them are so good they even make me like (not love) Selena's character.

i, in no way, find Martin Short restrained by this show. he is martin shorting himself all over the place and that's a good thing.

In a lot of the interviews I've seen with Martin Short and Steve Martin it always seems like Short dials it up to an 11. It's a similar vibe I often get when I've seen Dana Carvey do an interview along with David Spade. It's not that they can sometimes be dramatic with over the top enthusiasm...it's that they're often only overly dramatic and over the top.
I'd say on a show like this you get a little bit of that, but also some very good restrained acting. Him finding the Ben scrapbook while Streep was in the bath is a good example where he could have gone over the top. I'm not knocking him at all, just saying I enjoy him more in slightly smaller doses. And having him play off of Steve Martin helps that a lot for me.

I think it is peak New York that an inordinate amount of murders in the building has absolutely zero effect on its real estate popularity.

Loved the season. Set up multiple possibilities just within the "a mother will do anything for her child" theme.
But 2 things I really want to see now. 1) "Death Rattle Dazzle: The Musical" - what we got was so good I want more! 2) They MUST give us at least a cameo or more from Scott Bakula in S4.

Supposedly that Scott Bakula line was ad libbed by Steve Martin.

This was my favorite season of OMITB. Season 2 kinda sucked and season 1 didn’t have as tight of a story.
This was solid all the way.

Not to mention I am fully invested in the murder victim this time around (for season 4) because I love Sazz and because Charles is a target one would presume as well. Also, there is a good chance it means we will see more Jan.

I enjoyed the season, but found myself less interested in this season as compared to the first two. Will watch the 4th. I can see it ending with Mable and Oliver going to LA to be with Tobert and Loretta and Charles being reconnected with Lucy and be more involved in her life.
