I was wondering about Mystique's age. But then again she was Rouge's Mom (adoptive).

Also just saw on Wiki, that she claims to be over 100. I stopped reading X-men not long after 'fatal attractions' so I didn't know that.

also;

quote:

Former X-Men writer Claremont has stated that he originally intended Mystique and Destiny to be Nightcrawler's biological parents (with Mystique having morphed into a man for the act of conception),[13] but Marvel didn't agree, because at that time the Comics Code Authority and Marvel policy prohibited the explicit portrayal of gay or bisexual characters.[14][15] Much later,[16] the two were confirmed to have been a couple

They've finally done it: They've made a great prequel. I was so apprehensive about this film before it was last week, thinking it would continue the downward spiral of this franchise, but they did it almost pitch perfect. So far this is the best film of 2011. Xavier's, Magneto's, and Mystique's development was done very well, and greatly enjoyed every aspect of this film.

Matthew Vaughn should be contracted by George Lucas to remake the Star Wars prequels. He clearly knows what makes a good one. We got to see the characters bond and their actions are all believable. In the prequels Anakin should have been somewhat like Magneto and Obi Wan should have been like Xavier (and he kinda was actually). Have the second end where he begins the path on the Dark Side similarly how this film ended with Magneto, and then go from there.

4 out of 4 stars though.

Loved it, saw it last night. I think it is the best one so far. Won't go into details, but I just thought it was written better for the characters.

I thought Jennifer Lawrence and Kevin Bacon both did their roles well in the film as well. However Jennifer Lawrence really made a name of herself before this film, and Kevin Bacon continues to be Kevin Bacon.

I didn't until you told me that. I just thought of him as the British guy from Inglourious Basterds before this film.

This movie was great! Slow during a few parts but understandably so. I really enjoyed this one. Rivaled the first one for me.

I saw it today and thought it was really good. I don't think I've seen any of the other X-Mens, but this one was awesome.

And I usually hate going to the movies. Movies can rarely keep my attention and I usually get bored and end up falling asleep. But I paid attention to this whole movie and thought it was well done. Well written and good acting. Cool special effects, too.

She's also Nightcrawler's biological mom (you get to see Azazel, his dad, in this film too... awwwwwesome!)

And even more-so, she was in a Lesbian relationship with Destiny, where she morphed into a man and got her pregnant. Marvel management was horrified by this (back during the pre-Ellen and pre-Will&Grace '90s) and made Fabian Nicieza retconn it into a miscarriage. Wusses.

me not reading the comics at all wondered if azazel was the precursor to nightcrawler...didn't know that mystique was his mom

they pointed out in the film that she aged at half the rate of "normal" people
