I just don't get excited anymore. A few people who nobody cares about probably die. Negan isn't going anywhere. Rick isn't staffed to fight him. It's gonna be a boring season until they actually stand up to him.

I kind of agree with the discontent for this season. Yes, we need to establish Negan's dominance within the plot and the consequences, but goddamn how many episodes can we go on for until something, anything, good happens? It's a chore to get through.

they did a lot of short flashbacks in previous seasons some of which gave context and backstory
it would be very cool to start an episode at Negans house pre ZA just for 5 minutes or so, just to flesh his character out some
or shortly post ZA showing his climb to the top
or something...anything other than this treadmill they are on
I thought an excellent ep was the one where they started the zombie fun run where they did in black and white for past and color for present and went back and forth. We need to see some effort out of these people to make their situation better without wasting hours on set up
had they mixed and matched the sanctuary/hilltop/kingdom/ASZ/Oceanside narratives over the same number of shows I doubt viewers would be so cranky. By the time they get back to the characters we want to see you've forgotten what the hell they were doing

I honestly don't know why Negans group bothers with ASZ anyway
they don't grow anything or make anything or raise anything
all they are are soldiers and they aren't going to fight for them
in the narrative as presented they'd see that, kill them all, take the McMansions and live comfortably. they could use Alexandria as a luxury retreat

I had read a snippet of an interview with Gale Anne Hurd and she implies there will be multiple deaths tonight. So I don't think Negan is done yet.

there's still a few original alexandrians to cull
it's pretty funny how quickly they've run through those guys leaving Aaron as the only good character left out of the whole damn town

Last week after the black priest got out of the car with Spencer, he took off in the woods WTF was spencer doing? Was he trying to sneak up on black priest? I know Spencer found the zombie deer hunter but what made him run off in the woods in the first place?
