The gas they used was highly flammable in mist like it was distributed.
It was a colossal frick up of the highest order.
Read up about the gas that was used and it speaks for itself.

Watched the miniseries, they definitely changed a lot of things to condense the whole thing, but some of it was questionable changes I don't understand why they would change it. Like Serenity being born, she was like 4 at the time of the event.
I was reading about the event this weekend. The bug that recorded them talking about pouring something, never said what they were pouring was recorded at between 6-7 in the morning. The fire didn't happen til around noon. It's funny how the pro gov docs always leave this detail out.
2 out of the 3 fires started at sites that the tanks inject CS just left. They were using flash bangs and other projectiles for gas that could of easily started it. The 3rd site has some questionable stuff on the FLIR video. Flammable liquid was spread throughout the site by tanks running over the various oil containers and kerosene containers that were spread throughout the site. They didn't have power, they had to depend on oil for lighting and such. Plus the dust left over from the CS gas after it settled is extremely flammable. Then you have the strong winds flowing through the place and it was easy for that fire to spread quickly once it started. Who started the fire is definitely up for debate.

One of the Davidians survivors said on camera he heard Koresh order the men to pour gasoline and then light it. The documentary I saw had some audio that was "cleaned up" and had him saying it also. The audio stuff can be doctored, so not sure how much you can rely on that. The place went up really fast like there was gas on it IMO.

Serenity was not born during the show. It was Judy Schneider that gave birth during the show.
That's right, got that part confused.
Then I will go to the wedding ceremony, that didn't happen in his book.

Just finished the series. What baffles me is, how there was no equipment on hand to fight fires with. If that is what the FBI believed what was going to happen, then why didn't they plan for that? Have a few fire trucks on hand, you've got freaking tanks out there, you mean to tell me you couldn't locate a fire truck or two for an emergency situation? Also, they shut the power off, they were using lanterns, the tear gas that was used was incendiary by nature, again, no plan for a potential fire. Maybe that's what the FBI was hoping for, so that any evidence would be destroyed.

The government (meaning, collectively all of us), made him "right" to his followers. Regardless of whether they intentionally lit the fire, the feds did it (and this is what I believe, although it was largely unintentional - they were filling the place up with toxic, potentially fatal gas, and crushing walls with an armored vehicle - in addition, there was some indication the Davidians were stockpiling lantern fuel - whether they used it to start the fire themselves, or the feds inadvertently spread it with the assault is likewise of no moment - children were killed due to bureaucratic malfeasance - at all levels.)
Yup. I believe the feds started the fire as well. Whether intentional or just a result from their other tactics.
Why would the cult followers finally start a fire that far in? No reason at that point. Also, the feds tried other stupid tactics to draw them out prior.. like playing obnoxious music.. and all it did was strengthen their beliefs from what Koresh was preaching to them.
I haven't seen this miniseries, but I did watch the Murder Made Me Famous episode about David Koresh.
The ATF should have listened to their undercover agent when he suggested they cease the initial raid.
Really crazy this thing went on for so long. I can't imagine such a standoff in today's time.
