I've noticed this with most singing shows. I always fast forward through the female judges' comments.

Christina Aguilera
Sara Bareilles
Paula Abdul
Jennifer Lopez

I just feel that they are all idiots.

Tony was solid, even though I didn't know the song.

Erin was meh, but I've never really cared for her.

Chris is the best by far, talent/vocal-wise. But I'm still not sure America will agree. Smart song choice though...Ave Maria is an opera-ish song, but one that most people would recognize.

Jamar was cool. I liked what they/he did with that song and he sounded good. He's clearly having the most fun of any of the contestants.

I actually thought Jermaine was just meh on the Journey song. Maybe I'm wrong, but I feel like he sounds like a really good average singer, if that makes sense.

Katrina was solid, but not outstanding.

I don't really like Lindsey at all...prolly because of the whole weird annunciation shite.

Juliet did a good job, but I still say she should've gone Joplin.

And Christina fricking sucks yet again...I'm really getting tired of her shite. She's such a fricking attention whore. She gets it up the most on the whole responding to the "I love you"s from the crowd. She had to go up on stage for both of her team members...whether it was solely for support is arguable, but even if it was, it 100% steals some of the spotlight from them. And what the frick was she wearing anyway? Instead of critiquing Jamar, she re-sings his song and talks about wanting to be on stage again. Her critique of Katrina was basically her talking all about herself. At one point, she talked about how she sang a song (that someone sang) at the Grammys. Talking shite about Adam/Tony being a Britney cover band. Etc. She just craves attention at all times, and does her very fricking best to steal any glory she can from the actual contestants on the show. Oh, and her tits (particularly her right one) look fricking disgusting...that was the least attractive cleavage I've seen in a long time. frick you, Christina Cuntuilera.

Is that legit? I don't watch much outside of the actual performances and critiques afterwards, so I missed them saying that...but that would be awesome.

Dia, Javier, Vicki, and Beverly (?). I hope they perform and aren't just "on the show" for support or something like that.

My bad. Will keep the commentary limited to the voice.

I agree about everything you said about christina. She is intolerable out there. She also looked like a raccoon with a blonde Afro last night. She did not look attractive at all.

Almost worse than her acknowledging the horrible live audience, was her reaction to Lindsey's performance. That was a little much.

I enjoyed Lindsey's audition and thought she would be one of my favorites but she went down hill fast. She tried to be Dia Frampton and it didn't work for her but somehow continued to stay in. I didnt like last night at all for her.

Tony was all over the place for me. I didn't like that at all.

I'm a big Juliet fan. I thought that was amazing last night. I have watched that performance a few times since and thought she absolutely stole the show.

I think Jeremiah is a good singer but I didn't think he was all that great. Just decent.

Chris is a great opera singer. He is just out of his element on a show like this. Singing Ave Maria last night was just perplexing to me. But I thought it was good.

Erin and Katrina were just alright. Erin chopped that song up too much IMO. I just wanted it to end after about a minute. Katrina did okay but she tried to sing too Lauryn hill-ish for me and not using her own singing voice. The performance wasn't bad, just didn't excite me though.
Jamar was a lot better this week than last but if we are going by teams, I hope Juliet wins the week and moves on.

Got this off one of the entertainment news sites:

quote:

On Tuesday's elimination show, the four finalists will be revealed based on a combination of the coaches' scores and America's votes -- but not until we've seen some performances from some of last year's favorites. Here's the scoop from the NBC press release:

"Blake's season one finalist, Dia Frampton, is set to perform her single 'Don't Kick the Chair' featuring Kid Cudi off her debut album, Red, while Vicci Martinez sings 'Come Along' featuring her former coach, CeeLo. Also, Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter, Cyndi Lauper, graces 'The Voice' stage for the first time to perform her classic hit, 'Money Changes Everything,' alongside Coach Christina Aguilera's season one finalist, Beverly McClellan. And reigning champ Javier Colon performs his new single, 'A Drop in the Ocean,' off his current album, Come Through for You."

I've seen several comments like that in this thread. What was perplexing about it? IMO it was genius because it allowed him to do what he does best, but still sing something that America would recognize (even younger people). It was the perfect choice. It's not like he went out there and did a Bruno Mars song or something like that.

I think Jamar is a better singer than Juliet, but they're both awesome and two of the best left. It sucks that one won't be around in the final four, because they are both better than everyone else except for Chris Mann.

Jamar's note he hits at 1:20 in this song is awesome. I really do like Juliet, but Jamar can sing his arse off...amazing that only CeeLo turned around for that dude. I'll likely be pulling for whichever one of these two makes it.

Tony should beat Katrina (not that he's great, more by default). I do hope he makes it though because it's funny to see Christina get almost jealous of someone like Tony just because he is getting some pub after all these years (and she's been worldly famous for more than a decade).

Chris Mann should beat Lindsey (not sure if he will though).

And Jermaine should beat Erin (again, by default).

My rankings of those 8:

1. Chris Mann
2/2a. Jamar/Juliet
4. Tony Lucca
5. Jermaine Paul
6. Katrina Parker
7. Erin Willet
8. Lindsey Pavao

Good point. What i am saying isnt criticism for his performance, in fact, I thought it was great. I personally am a big fan of Ave Maria as I am a religious person and hear it sung during catholic mass fairly regularly,, My opinion comes from just not believing he could get votes from the main stream viewer that would spend time voting on this show. I just personally don't think that his performance would connect with the audience enough. But it is really almost up to the judges mainly at this point. They can manipulate the numbers any way they want on their team.

That's what I don't like about the voting and decision process at this point. It is unfair that two good singers are together and both are better than the probable winners of other teams. At this point it should be best singers move on top to bottom. This process makes you eliminate potential winners and the whole point of a singing competition is to find the best. Not the best on a single team that outlasted his/her various competition.

quote:

1. Chris Mann
2/2a. Jamar/Juliet
4. Tony Lucca
5. Jermaine Paul
6. Katrina Parker
7. Erin Willet
8. Lindsey Pavao

This is a pretty good ranking. I agree for the most part just a little different with my top 2. I would put Juliet at 1 and jamar and Chris at 2. But overall we are pretty much on the same page with the rankings.

Can't wait to see what number that Christina gives Lindsey. I'm thinking something like 70-30. She loves her.

No, she didn't. Am I the only one on here that has heard Javier in concert since he released that CD in December? He far and away was the best vocal talent Season 1, and Vicci was my #2 and IDNGAF if she is a lesbian or not.

Wife wanted to go see Javier, bought tix for the December show in ATL, it got canceled and he played Valentine's Day at the Variety Playhouse and was awesome. Sang about 8 or his own tunes and sang 8 by other artists including Coldplay, Adele, Peter Gabriel, acoustic version of "I'll Always Love You" for Whitney, etc. The guy's voice is liquid platinum and was as nice and audience friendly as could be and much appreciative of fan support on the show and pointed out one of this season's contestants in the crowd. He is a good dude and I hope he does very well with his career. I am more into rock and blues, but Javier has it going on and had a good joke about believing every Southerner is a country music fan and learned differently.

I digress, Jermaine, Jamar, Katrina and Tony were my favorites. I have to support Jamar, it doesn't take much to criticize his former decisions, but it takes a lot of personal growth to overcome his life challenges and have so much fun performing. I don't get the love for Juliette, she turns me off big time and I am on the big train of dislike for Christina for being greatly overpaid compared to the other judges and having to interject her career into every GD comment she makes. Lindsey was, as always, a big case of "Meh". Carry on, the season got a lot better than I thought it was going to based on a few performers stepping up their performances the last 3-weeks and I think Erin has a good future ahead of her but won't make the finals and Katrina, based on her mother's comments last night, really had not been able to sing much the prior 18-months due to her illness which is why she has really improved.

Not even a little bit. She was great, no doubt, but that competition was Javier Colon's from the second he opened his mouth in the blind auditions all the way through his "Stitch by Stitch" song at the end.

At this point, I can not frickING HATE Christina any more than I do right now. She ALWAYS has to make it about her. Every time something comes up, she says, "I remember performing that, or I thought of that before, etc" and after Jamar's performance she shows off again.

fricking this.
And, it looks like it physically kills her to compliment anyone, without making it some kind of backhanded compliment.
Or, the trite, "You look beautiful."
